i find you at night
your presence, an imprudence--
though in me, you take delight.
i find you in my mind
i find you in my dreams
your lies are now entwined--
your lies make me scream
i find you here
i find you there
you seem to be everywhere
but
what if i stop searching?
what if i shift my gaze
to the joys this life brings?
never to see your pangs of dismay
i find you no more--
i find myself instead
torn from your acts of war.
i find peace in my head
