chirp
chirp
the sound of robins and sparrows
nudge me out of sleep.
i open my eyes
my dreams have ceased.
sun rays peak through my windows
offering a warm glow
that fills my room with
soft oranges and yellows.
chirp
chirp
i give a smile when i hear
the busyness of the birds.
i reach down to greet my cat
waking him up as he stirs.
what a beautiful morning--
the calm, the peace,
the promise of a fresh start.
the worries of my heart begin to cease.
i thank God for the birds
who greet me without words,
and the rays of sun that invite
to start my day in its light.
i experienced a peaceful start to my morning today. i love it when the birds are my alarm clock and the sun bids me good morning. what sounds of nature do you like to hear?
