what lies on the horizon?
is it painted with the rays of sun,
to say "hello" on a day just begun?
are there birds flying high,
testing the limits of the sky?
or a simple sail boat waving its flag "goodbye?"
there is a thin line--
that makes earth and sky more defined,
like sea and land when meeting on a coastline.
the horizon shows what's ahead.
sometimes in full, sometimes in silhouette,
giving a glimpse from sunrise to sunset.
so what lies on your horizon?
city lights, the country, a view of the ocean?
or does the sky guide you like a beacon?
image is of a sunrise i caught on my way to work one morning
