Through death, you shall become anew. Through death, you shall be revered. Through death, you will become a saint, guiding sinners with your divine blades. And through death, you will bring vengeance. Revenge for those who had died in your arms.

'Something's off. The drones are taking too long.'

V1 thought, waiting on standby to fight the core. Finding the Patch and escaping the labs should've been done ages ago. Deciding to stay just for a moment, V1 tensed as he received a message from N. It seemed he had been crying. Knowing that something was awry, V1 asked what was going on.

"Tessa's gone. So is J. And... we lost V. There's a squad of drones hunting us down, and we can't seem to-

"Where are you? How many of them are there?"

"Three drones, and at least a dozen sentinels. We're in the elevator shaft, falling. Please, V1, V still might be fighting them. You must-

"Assuming V has visual protection, I don't see why she won't survive."

"The sentinels are not a problem, but...

"Okay. Stay where you are and protect yourself from any danger. And N, whatever you do, don't let Uzi use the Solver. I'm going back down."

V was fighting, surrounded by a horde of sentinels. One tried to bite out her throat as another clawed at her tail. Grabbing a sentinel by the tail, she shoved it into its comrade's jaw, wounding both of them as she impaled them with her sword.

The red-eyed sentinel swiped at her face while aiming a bite at her torso. Jumping over the sentinel's leap, V turned and landed on its back, sawing at its neck. Shrieking, the sentinel scrambled away as one of the 'Angel drones' attacked her, its swords bared to cut her down.

"Such resilience. But why? It's not like you feel anything apart from greed and bloodlust. Why would you keep fighting when you can flee and escape?"

The drone asked, overbearing V with cuts and slashes before stopping with a feint. V stepped back and winced as a burning hole was made in her right hand. Behind was another drone, holding a rifle.

Stabbing a lunging sentinel with her tail, V replied;

"You know nothing of me, human."

"You keep calling me that, 'human'. What makes you think that?" The drone replied, pushing her back with a counterstrike from his blades. Punching her visor, the drone feigned falling and used its legs to trip V.
