On the surface, two unlikely drones are wandering about, searching for something. It was Thad and Lizzy, heading to the Corpse Spire.
"So, why exactly are we here?" Thad asked, looking at Lizzy texting on her phone. Sighing, Lizzy turned and faced Thad, then resumed texting on her phone.
"I'm a good friend, and secrets are blackmail. So I'll keep that to myself. And for the tenth time, Thad, It's not about football." Lizzy replied, stopping at the entrance of the Corpse spire.
"Okay. Does your secret friend want to know about football, or-
"Shut."
"Okay."
Then Lizzy picked up a green generator from the ground. It was a portable power module for worker drones, used as a battery for Uzi's railgun.
"I can't believe I'm doing this," Lizzy muttered, groping around for more generators to find.
"Fancy seeing you here, Lizzy. You too, Thad." A voice could be heard from behind. Thad turned and saw Khan leading a small group of armed worker drones.
"Someone told me to give you these," Lizzy said, handing Khan the portable generators.
Nodding, Khan looked proudly at his weapon, a shortened version of Uzi's railgun. Lizzy had delivered him the final parts for its completion.
"I don't remember ordering someone to make you two scout here. Who was it that sent you here?" Khan asked, attaching the generator and charging up the weapon.
When Lizzy didn't reply, Khan shrugged, proceeding to the inner spires to collect more resources.
"You two better get back to the shelter before that horse over there blows our entire planet off." He said, signaling them to leave.
Thad nodded as Lizzy pulled him away, exiting the spire. Khan looked at them leave and pulled out a walkie-talkie.
"Part 2A, Check the perimeter. Unit K will join your location. Part 2B, get ready to escort two worker drones to shelter."
Sighing, Khan holstered the weapon and shook his fist.
"Bad crowd, those murder drones. Destroying ways off the planet, my WIFE, my daughter having interest beyond cannibalism, and 'NIGHTCORE'?"
The ground suddenly shook, and everything started to float. The gravity was suddenly gone. Looking at the dead worker drones floating around him, Khan spoke; "It's the end times! If my wife's closet is right, This planet is going to eat us soon, so why don't we go out like gentlemen."
The WDF squad behind him nodded.
"It's about time we show that thing what worker drones are capable of, and no hiding behind doors this time," Khan muttered, landing on the snow as the gravity returned.
"Alright, WDF. Let's head back. Don't let your guard down, though." Khan spoke, signaling the drones to follow him. The WDF forces complied, returning to their base while keeping their weapons out.
"When I get my hands on that Solver..." Khan muttered, his eyes filled with hatred. The Solver had ruined everything for him, his wife, his daughter, and now his entire colony. This he could simply not accept as a leader of the WDF.
Khan's squad reached the bunker doors, the only intact one unscathed from the Earthmover's attacks. Almost half of the worker complex was destroyed, but the shelter still stood strong. Since Uzi's lot was preoccupying the Earthmover, The complex would be safe from danger.
