"So..." N started, looking at Uzi while they walked through the gate. It led to a city, glowing with azure light.
"Yeah?"
"You mind if we talk for a while? "
"Okay,"
"You know... I've been talking with Tessa when you guys got captured by the feral worker drone down there and... Well..." N trailed off, looking at Uzi, her wounds from the battle still present. Somehow, she had failed to properly regenerate despite being a Solver drone.
N looked closer at Uzi. No. That wasn't it. The wounds on Uzi were regenerated alright, but bits of flesh and blood clung on, reminding him of the Corpse that the Solver used.
N thought of the reincarnated 'Chambers' guy who had attacked them, wielding what the Terminal referred to as 'Hell energy'. If the Solver could manifest in organic things... No. This wasn't just the Solver. Dread welling up in his chest, N opened his mouth and asked Uzi.
"...Uzi, When you...lost...control at the camp, was there someone else apart from Cyn?"
