Azumi laid on the ground as she practically gasped for air
"Why are you so- harsh?" She asked her father as he stood above her
Madara looked at his daughter, face void of any emotion
"You are naturally born with power as you are my and your mothers daughter but you still need to train to get strong"

Azumi sat up and looked at her father, her face also showing nothing. It was like father like daughter, they both always had stoic faces
"But can't I just work with mama's and the uchiha's blood that runs inside of me? Surely that will just give me a lot power without doing anything right? I don't even want to be strong like my parents and uncles" she looked at the palm of her hand

The image of you hugging Tobirama's bloody body flashed in her mind and her breath hitched

Madara inspected his daughters figure, he notice the slight change in posture and the slight surprise in her eyes
"Whatever it is that you thought of, it is for that reason that you at least have to get strong enough for my tastes, if not... you will be like a little lamp in a field of wolves in this world" Madara spoke to Azumi as if she wasn't even someone he cared for, but deep inside. He really did care for all of his family

Madara plopped down on the grass beside his daughter and sighed
"I just don't understand papa, why do I have to be strong when even when I try, everyone around me is gonna be stronger than me because they have higher potential..." her mind went back to when her brother showed her the mark between his collarbones, the mark that proved he was gonna be really strong someday, no matter what happens

"I'm not like those people who don't care about others people progress papa... if I ever notice someone's better than me at something then I'll lose motivation and give up, that's why I'm not good at anything, that's why I don't do anything except just lay around"

"And sakusa, I knew from the start that he was bound to always be better than me in everything. I love him so much but being around him drains my motivation to do things and whatever I do and he starts doing and gets better than me at... I just give that up."
Azumi stayed as she plucked out handfuls of grass from the ground

"Your mother-" Madara started but Azumi cuts him off "and when will you ever talk about something other than mama? I understand that you love her but since I could remember you always talked about her achievements and stuff like that... but when will you ever talk about sakusa, about me with as much pride as you do with mama?"

Madara's breath hitched as his eyes widened, this was what he feared the most; his children thinking he isn't proud of them

"Sometimes I just feel like you don't love me... and sakusa feels like that sometimes too, and each time I will defend you and say that it's hard for you to show love even if you love someone but at one point I just-" she sighs "-you know what I mean right?" She asked Madara

Madara looked away from his daughter, staring into thin air
"I... I apologize, I'm sorry." Azumi wasn't surprised by his apology at all, you always told her that he feels sorry for not acting out on his love for Azumi and her brother. Every single time, and just at one point, she was tired of apologies without change

"If you're really sorry then you'll start changing" she spoke up
Madara's eyes widened in surprise, his heart pounds against his chest in guilt

"You and your brother are the reason why I found peace within myself" he admitted after some hesitation

Azumi looked at her dad and her eyes met his, he brought two fingers together and poked her forehead "I love the both of you just as much as I do with your mother, the three of you, together. Are the reason why I haven't lost myself within the grief of losing my brother"

"And I love all of you, more than you'll ever know. More than I'll ever be able to show"
Azumi's eyes widened once she saw Madara's eyes water, she knew that her father never cried, never, and now he was... with her and not you

"I'm afraid that if I show my love too much, I'll blink and the both of you are gone. My love is bad luck, it's always been bad luck so for once I fear that my love will rip you and your brother away from me"

He looked away and closed his eyes "I want you and your brother to be strong... strong enough so that I can show my love for the both of you without fearing your deaths"

Azumi jumped onto her dad and wrapped her arms around him
"I'm sorry for making you cry papa" she whispered and Madara placed a hand on her back

"I love you papa" "I love you too."

Azumi had a big smile on her face as she looked out the window of her room
"What are you smiling about?" Sakusa asked as he walked into the room
"You know sakusa, papa really does love us"
Sakusa scoffed "as if"

Azumi turned around with a big toothy smile that reached ear to ear
"No sakusa, he really, really does love us... more than anything"
Sakusa was a little confused but just shook his head and smiled afterwards

"You're so weird, zumi"
