Madara storms into his estate, not saying a word to his daughter who was sitting at the table eating someone she had made

She paused her eating to watch her father walk towards his room. Her brother soon following after him into the estate

"Whats up with him?" She asks him
Sakusa sighs and scratches the back of his head "I don't even know, he came to help me cause a bunch of thugs were chasing after me but there was this lady who got there first. And dad kept staring at her"

Azumi raises an eyebrow "staring? What did she look like?"
Sakusa hums in thought as his mind went back to the strange woman

"She had this metal mask with a bunch of holes in it covering her eyes so I couldn't really see her face completely and she also wore this hood. But she had a strong back, and strong arms, and a strong torso too. I could see all the muscles in her body except for the legs because she wore big pants? I don't know"

Azumi hums "what colour was her hair? Could you see it?" Sakusa nods

"Her hood was weird, the back of it drooped down to like the middle of her back so it covered a lot of her hair but her hair was so long... it reached her butt, she had h/c hair"

Azumi spaces out in thought, h/c wasnt a hair colour you would find in any village. The only possible reason would be the okkotsu clan but they turned unknown and they're all scattered across the world. Was it possible that she was one of her and her brothers aunts? No, all the strong ones are dead or missing... the only 'strong' one is yuki-san but she's always busy being the hokage's right hand man. So it couldn't be her

Was it her mother? Azumi shakes her head, no. Her mother has been missing for over a year now... but she was the only one azumi knew had h/c hair and with visible muscle

And that would also make sense if dad kept staring at her too

"But uncle aki was there too and apparently she was his wife" Sakusa sighs as he crosses his arms

Azumi rubs her temples with two fingers

If it was her mother then why would she be uncle aki's wife? That doesn't make sense if she's lady uchiha; madara's wife

"Did you see how dad was looking at her? Like what is a mean stare or was it like... soft?"

Sakusa thinks for a while but stays silent once he remembers
He looks at his sister with surprise written on his face "there's only one person that dad looks so sweetly at-" azumi stands up and slams her hands on the table
"You're telling me that's our mother!?"

Sakusa was as equally surprised as his sister "and she protected me! She had the arm infront of me and everything!" They fell silent once they remembered something

"If that was her then why did uncle aki say it was his wife?" Sakusa sighs

"Should we go check on papa?" Azumi asks and Sakusa furrows his eyebrow and nods
"We should, but we have to be really quiet"

The siblings peeked into their fathers room

It was dark, the only light being the candle that he placed beside a painting he had made of their mother. The candle was always lit, he said it was because 'wherever she is, there will be light'

And ever since he said that, the candle was always lit. When it would run out, he would get the exact same candle again and replace the old one.

The teenagers saw how he sat in silence on his futon with his eyes closed

They sweatdropped and azumi whispered to her brother "what is he doing?"
Sakusa shrugs his shoulders

They heard ruffling and turned their heads to look at their dad who now was kneeling down in front of the painting of their mother

They watched as their father muttered a few incoherent things and his face that stayed stoic, they sighed and wished that the ability of reading him so easily was genetic so that it could've been passed down to them from you. But they could only wish that, you were the only person who could tell when something was wrong with him after all

The siblings frowned and closed the door, turning around and leaning their backs on the wall behind them

"You think that's her? You think she came back?" Sakusa asks his sister
"We'll be damned if it's not. If that's not her then I have no hope in seeing father be happy again"
Azumi replies, sadness lacing her voice

"It's not only him anymore zumi'. This whole house will be all dark and sullen"
"Just like how uncle noya described it before she came"

Sakusa chuckles dryly "hey, but atleast we still have their garden. I think her presence still hasn't left the flowers there"

Azumi rolls her eyes "you're only saying that cause papa is keeping them all beautiful and healthy"
Sakusa scoffs "and why do you think he's doing that? You can use your brain for once cant you?"

Sakusa kept on talking about how annoying his sister was just when she was beside him but he stopped once he heard small sobs and hiccups "did I make you cry?" His eyes widened a little

Azumi leans against her brother and dumps her head onto his shoulder
"I miss okaa-san, I miss her so much. And I think it would've been better if we atleast knew if was still alive or not" she sobbed into her brothers shoulder, making the fabric of his shirt stain with tears and snot

Sakusa glances at his sister then his eyes gaze into nothing at all, his mind wonders off to a different space

"Okaa-san is gonna come back to us eventually. It's not like she's gonna abandon us"
