Author's Note Nine: The Ninja Turtles 2003 Connection

Before you say anything, I am not making this a crossover with Ninja Turtles.

Let me explain.

We all know the Last Olympian is dark as shit when it gets to the Battle of Manhattan. And since things started getting very dark in the Battle Of The Labyrinth, and since I'm taking the story of Percy Jackson in a different direction, what better thing to use as inspiration for a giant fight between humans and monsters?

Why not a certain 12 episode season of the 2003 incarnation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles called "The Lost Episodes"? We have monsters, we have elemental warriors, we have an evil monstrosity who wants to destroy everything (or transform it into his own evil domain in this case), what more could you ask for? It's rightfully fitting for the whole Monster King arc in this book - at least for this segment of this story - since..

surprise surprise, the Last Olympian in this timeline - while it still involves Percy leaving camp eventually, let's just say he'll be witness to a good bit more..

So for now.. while it might seem to be the demigods against Luke/Kronos' army right now.. let's just say.. you should be asking it's Kronos' army against what?

Yes.. you heard me.

What.

Because I don't think even Gaea or Tartarus are going to even believe for a second the shit that is about to befall the forces of the Lord of Time.

You thought having to go up against Percy Jackson with the curse of Achilles on him was bad enough? Trust me. The Titan Army hasn't felt pain like they're soon about to. It's going to be painful for both sides, yes.. but maybe this time, since the King cannot be stopped, it will be more painful for the Titan Army.

Because seriously, for those who oppose the King..

ALL WHO WOULD STAND IN HIS WAY WILL PERISH!

...Believe me when I say, that was not me speaking from the part about Percy with the curse of Achilles to the part about all who stand in the Monster King's way will perish.
