The sound of Splice's phone ringing snapped them out of their thoughts. Their face lit up as they saw the caller ID. "Angie! Shit, dude, what's up?" They asked. Angel Dust was quiet for a moment. "Hey.. I was wondering if you were busy?" He said. Splice could tell by the waver in his voice that something was wrong. "Not at all. What do you need?" They sat up, suddenly attentive.

"Could you come over?" Angel asked. By the time he had finished his question, Splice was already getting ready to leave. "Text me the address. I'll be there." They answered.

Splice stared up in surprise as they walked toward the door to the Hazbin Hotel. "This place is huge.." They muttered, bringing themself to knock on the door. After a few moments, it swung open. A small pink-haired sinner in a maid outfit opened the door. Her eye widened. "Angel, your friend is here!" She called excitedly.

Angel Dust peered around the corner. A smile lit up on his face. "Splice! You showed up." He said. Splice stepped inside. "Of course I did. What kind of friend would I be if I didn't?" They replied, encasing Angel in a tight hug for a few seconds.

"What did you need?" Splice asked gently. Angel Dust's smile became more forced. "Ah.. straight to business, huh?" He said dryly. Splice frowned. "Angel, come on.. You don't have to hide things from me." They said concernedly. Angel let out a deep sigh. "The extermination is coming up. And- well.. I don't know if I'm gonna make it. I wanted to make sure I got to see you, just in case." He explained with a sad smile.

Splice's eyes widened. "Don't be ridiculous. You know I've got places you can hide." They replied. Angel shook his head. "No. I'm not runnin' this time. I'm defending this place." His voice was firm. His hands were clenched into fists at his sides.

"You're.. fighting the angels?" Splice asked, brows furrowing in confusion. Angel nodded. "Vaggie's out right now figuring out how to kill them." He answered. Splice nodded apprehensively. "Right... How can I help?"

Angel Dust was taken aback. "What? Splice, I can't ask you to do that." He said. Splice grinned. "Good thing you're not asking, then." They replied cheekily.

Angel Dust shook his head. "You don't understand. We're fighting angels. You could get hurt." He said firmly. Splice's expression hardened. "I'm not letting you fight alone. You're gonna need help, and who better than me to do it? I'm an assassin, remember?" They replied, now insistent on assisting in any way possible. "Fine. But, if you die, it's your own fault." Angel finally agreed, turning away to walk into the lobby. Splice chuckled. "I wouldn't have it any other way." They replied with a cheeky smile.

Inside of the lobby were two other sinners; a cat with wings and a snake. "Well, Angel, aren't you going to introduce me?" Splice teased. Angel Dust rolled his eyes playfully. "The little one you met at the door is Niffty. She's.. a bit of a creep." He said, gesturing to the little pink cyclops. She waved excitedly at Splice. "Aw, no. She's cute." The imp said with a little smile.

Angel Dust moved on. "This is-" Before he could finish his introduction, the snake sinner spoke up. "Sir Pentious, at your service." He said, bowing his head formally. Splice let out an amused giggle. "I'm Splice. It's a pleasure." They shook Pentious' hand. Angel looked over to the cat sinner. "This is Husk. He's the bartender." He introduced.

Splice looked Husk up and down. "Damn, Angie, where do you find these cuties?" They asked half-jokingly. Angel scoffed playfully. "I already tried the seduction shit. It won't work." He said. Splice frowned. "Boo." They muttered. "Where's everyone else? I know you said Vaggie's out, but surely there's more than just the five of you."
