comfort is the key to grow close to someone. y/n never realized she had gotten so close to bakugo that she was comfortable riding in his car this often.
he didnt lie when he said she'll be riding his car more often.
but right now, she's not comfortable. her heart beats the same way it did those years ago. rapidly. she feels her blood rushing to each of her body part making her feel weird.
"something wrong?" bakugo asked y/n looking at her. "...no" she replied calmly. "are you free tonight?" he asked. as much as her mind wanted to say no, she ended up saying, "yes" she replied.
"tomorrow is your day off, right?" he asked. "and?" she asked. "want to grab a drink later?" he asked. "i dont drink" she replied.
"i remember that. it can be like last time, i drink, you talk" he said. "there are other people you can actually drink with. you have friends." she said. "i enjoy peace and quiet. so i rather not" he replied.
"why, do you not like being around me?" he asked a very straightforward question. "just drop me off the corner, i have to pick up some stuff" she said diverting his question. he scoffed and stopped at the corner.
"i'll see you at night then?" he asked. "thanks for the ride" she closes the door behind her and walks away.
bakugo looks at her walking into the convenience store. he had never thought he would've actually fall for her.
"refill" bakugo said to the bartender. "aren't you driving back home?" y/n asked. "i know" he said.
"but i can handle a few bottles" he said. "bottles?" she asked surprised. he nodded as the bartender filled his whiskey glass.
"so what did you do after graduation?" he asked. "internship" she replied. "under hawks?" he asked. she nodded. "why not endeavor? it gives you a greater opportunity" he asked. "you know the answer" she sighed. he nodded.
they continued, i mean he continued drinking while they both talked comfortably. they decided to go to the rooftop of the club, since the loud music wouldnt be there.
y/n looked at the city from the rooftop of the the club. the entire city was lit with lights.
bakugo stood from afar watching her getting lost in the city lights. he goes and stands next to her in peaceful silence.
this is one thing he finds really relaxing. while most other of his friends and family know him as a loud, arrogant, rude man when he speaks, and listens when others talk, he finds himself in a position where he is able to calmly talk without having an outburst.
maybe it was her cold nature that cooled his hot headed mind.
he just wonders what happened in these years that turned her from a shy, introverted and cute, to a cold hero with almost no expression of emotions.
y/n enjoys the peaceful silence as well. she doesnt have a lot of people to whom she can be around this comfortably.talk openly and have normal conversations. maybe it was because she had known him for a long time. maybe she developed a crush on him during the teenage years.
y/n takes a deep breathe. "i have to go home" checking on her phone for the time, she said.
"alright" he said walking along with her in the parking lot. y/n walks towards her car, parked besides bakugo's.
"will you be able to go home?" she asked given that he has consumed at least a few many glasses. "why do you think i'll not?" he asked turning towards her and facing her.
"considering you have drunk at least ten glasses of strong whiskey today." she replied.
"you do notice a lot" he said walking towards her. she looks away looking at him approaching her. "dont you want to attend the meeting on monday on endeavor's joining" she said in sarcasm.
"why do you call him endeavor, he's your dad" he said waking closer to her. "calling him endeavor suits him more than calling him my father" she replied still looking in another direction.
"you know, endeavor's really strong, but i was always and all might fan" he said. "great" she replied
"but one thing i like the most about endeavor is" he is inches away from her now. "his youngest daughter" he said.
she looked at him. he's staring into her eyes. she quickly looks away as her face starts turning pink.
she stays silent, too flabbergasted to say anything to retaliate. she doesnt know whats he hinting at. does he genuinely likes her or is it one of his flirty tricks to get a short term girlfriend to use for his benefits.
all bakugo is waiting for a response from her. she looks at him again, he's still looking into her eyes with their faces just ten to twelve centimeters away.
thats when bakugo takes the opportunity and leans in to seal his lips to hers.
y/n grips on her phone as he kisses her. with blood running into her cheeks and thoughts arising in her mind. didnt he had a girlfriend?
soon, he pulled away. she took steps back away from him. "a-are you crazy? you're drunk, you have a girlfriend!" she said opening her car door which he immediately slams not letting her get in.
"y/n" he says her name, first time. "firstly, i have high tolerance for alcohol, i am not that drunk to not know that i am kissing someone i like" he said.
"and secondly, what girlfriend?" he asked. he isnt aware that she doesnt know his previous girlfriend and him broke up.
"...the one i saw you with" she replied eager for an answer. "at that party hawks brought you?" he asked. she nodded. "i broke up with my her the day i saw you" he said. she looked away embarrassed from the kiss.
"i have to go home" she said and rushed inside her car and drove away. bakugo looked at her driving away.
she has left him confused. he confessed his feelings but he doesnt know if she likes him back or not. well he's guessing most probably she does, but he just wants to confirm it.
