Filling up the last file of the vampire murder case, I sighed, leaning against my chair. I needed to take a step back, but from what? Life? Station? Family? or... Ava?

I sat back up, hearing a sound from outside my office. I stood up, grabbing my flashlight and gun. My heartbeat increased with every step I took towards the noise.

"Who's there?" I said out loud, walking slowly and getting a firm grip on my gun. "I am not going to repeat myself, or I will shoot—"

"Wait, wait, Olivia, don't shoot," Sira? "What the hell are you—wait, is that Lydia?" I questioned.

"Hi," Lydia said with a guilty look. "What the hell are you guys doing here late at night?"

"Well, umm, you know we—"

"Just wanted to have sex here," I said with a smirk on my lips. Lydia laughed, and Sira slapped her arm.

"What, it's funny," I smiled looking at them. "Well, it was one of my fantasies to do it after I got this job," she said shyly.

"I see. Well, have at it then. I am leaving."

"Wait, what are you doing here?" Sira questioned.

"Ah, just finishing up the files."

"Well, you could have done it tomorrow. Why late at night?"

"Well, I was free," I said, shrugging my shoulders. "You were free, or just wanted to get out of somewhere?"

"Sira," Lydia said.

"No, no, it's okay." I replied.

"So, do you wanna talk?" Lydia asked.

I let out a sad chuckle. "Let's see, what do I wanna talk about? I myself don't know."

"Olivia—" Lydia said, walking towards me.

"The woman I love with my whole heart doesn't want me now. Why? Because of my fault. Then we had a chance, no, forget that. I got a chance to restart our relationship. We went on a date, but then I find out she still has issues with trusting me."

"Did you cheat on her?" Sira asked.

I laughed. "Way worse than that."

"Did you try to kill her or what?" I stayed quiet.

"Olivia, what the fuck, did you—"

"Yes, I mean," I sighed. "It's not that easy to explain."

"Then explain, take your time," Lydia said, wiping off my tears.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, Lydia, I am still standing here," Sira said, walking towards us.

"Shut up, Sira. I was just wiping her tears, and it made you jealous."

"Yes, it did, and I am not afraid of accepting it." Lydia sighed at her childish behavior. "Okay, sorry, sorry, I was just trying to lighten up the moment. But Olivia, tell us. We might be able to help you."

"Well, for starters, she was behind me, chasing me more like stalking me for 3 days. Then I confronted her, and she said she wanted to take me out on a date. For some reason, my mindset went that she is the one killing all these people because, in some of my mindset, I don't know what the hell I was connecting, but I thought it was her. So, I accepted her request to keep a follow-up on her, get to know her agenda, and find some evidence that proves she is the killer."

"What the fuck, Liv," Sira exclaimed. Lydia groaned, giving her a glare making her shut up. I smiled at their interaction. "Continue, please." Lydia said.
