"I am home," I said announcing my presence to my family. "What was so important that they had to call you so quickly?" mum said from the living room.

"Everyone should take a seat to hear the news." I murmured as I entered the living room. Dad and Liam entered the room and took seats across from me.

"What happened, Liv?" he inquired, sitting alongside Mom. "We discovered a dead body of a man in a dark alley near a New Orleans bar."

"I have a hunch there's more to it," Liam replied.

I simply nodded. "A vampire killed him." I said it flatly. "How are you so certain?" dad questioned without any hesitation in his tone as if this was our day to day conversion. But it was, technically we aren't living a normal life like other people do. I gave him a look as if I had never seen or encountered a Vampire-killed body, and he shrugged.

"Just making sure Liv." "Vampire bite marks, half of his blood drained from his body, and finally a dark alley."

"This should be interesting; you are transferred here for your job, we move to a new city with you, and the first case you get is a family case. God," Liam said as he sipped his beer.

"I thought there weren't any vampires in New Orleans."

"Well, there are now, honey," dad said.

"Now, both of you go to bed; we'll speak about it in the morning," Mom stated in motherly tone. I rose up and took off my coat.

"Goodnight, guys," I murmured as I walked upstairs to my room. As part of my nighttime routine, I changed into my pajamas, brushed my teeth, turned out all the lights, and lay down on my bed. Vampires? A brand-new case? A dark alleyway? Girl stumbling, Brunette hair, sleek darkish blue eyes, so dark you could get lost in it as if you were alone in the deep ocean. Shorter than me in height and gorgeo—-Whoa whoa .

Grogeous? Why am I thinking about her, we just crossed our paths for less than a minute. And here I am thinking about her.

Why.

I just shifted positions and slept on my back, staring at the ceiling with that girl in my head, before falling asleep.

..............

Three days passed, the forensic team still has no idea how the guy died. Harry, 25, was out partying with friends and was drunk when he was killed

. I was in my office, thinking about how I might obtain a lead on the Vampire that killed him. My parents have been out on night patrol with Liam to see if they can find anything, but they have come up empty-handed. I desperately need coffee. I rose up and walked out of the office to a neighboring cafe.

"I'm going to get some coffee." I said to my partner/bestie Andrea. She nodded her head went on reading the documents she was doing before.

She was transferred here with me, which was wonderful. She knew I was a hunter who hunted things that hurt people.

Getting in the café, I proceeded to the counter to order my coffee. "Can I have one small americano with almond milk."

"Yes, that will be 1.50 bucks." I paid for my drink and walked to the cup collection. As December approached, there were several Christmas collecting cups and to-go mugs. When I picked up one of the Santa Claus mugs and checked it, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

Feeling someone's eyes on me I turned to look around just to find that girl from the murder night turning her head quickly and looked down at her phone.

She was seated next to the window seat. Strangely, I've been seeing her every day on my way to work, either in the morning or at night, either crossing across the street or catching a glimpse of her back anywhere I go. I grinned as I approached her.

I touched her shoulder making her jump slightly. "Is this seat taken?" I questioned why she was looking up at me with big eyes.

"Ye-ss, I mean No, no" she mumbled. I raised my brow at her stuttering and took a seat.

"So I have a question to ask you." She put her phone down and made straight eye contact with me before leaning back in her chair and crossed her arms.

"I believe I may have an answer to your question." I let out a small chuckle at her sudden confidence.

"Is it just a coincidence that I've been seeing you for the past three days after our little encounter, or are you a crazy stalker stalking me?" she sighed.

"I wish I could tell you it's a coincidence, but I'm afraid it's not. "I've been following you." The instant she revealed she had been following me, I went into high alert.

"Oh my god, it sounded so wrong. No No No, I mean have been following you for a purpose but with good intention I swear."

"Mam your coffee" the waitress, I thanked her grabbed the cup from her. I placed the steaming coffee cup to my mouth and took a large gulp.

As the hot liquid poured down my throat, I sighed in satisfaction and leaned back in my chair, content. I could feel her eyes on me.

"You're staring," I pointed out to her. She shook her head and smiled sheepishly at me, as if she was in a daze. "Sorry," she said. Taking a drink of my coffee. "So, can I know the reason ." I questioned.

"Off"she replied.

 "You following me"

"Oh, okay. Let me be clear about something. I–" "Mam, your bill," the waitress remarked as she handed it to me. The girl in front of me grumbled, which made me giggle a little. "I'm sorry, but I believe you've come at the wrong table."

"I have already paid my bill at the counter." I showed her the receipt. She looked at the girl in front of me, who was having a little pout on her face. "Not mine either."

"Sorry to disturb you, Please go on with your date, ma'am," she added, causing me to choke on my spit and the girl in front of me wide-eyed. I swallowed and cleared my throat.

"Phew that was awkward." "Tell me about it," she whispered to herself. "So," I began, motioning with my hand for her to tell me why she's following me.

"All right, don't panic out please" I nodded my head, as to why would I panic. "can I take you out on a date?" she said in one breath. And I released the breath I was holding in which I din't realize I was holding. But I just smirked at her not saying anything.

"Soo, will you?" she questioned with some hope in her eyes.
