AVA POV
She loves me... She said it out loud. I pulled back from her, not believing what I just heard from her mouth. "You love me," I whispered. Thousands of emotions were running through me, but the topmost was happiness. She loves me. She said it. "I–I don't know what to say to you. Why would you love me? I am a fucking vampire for God's sake, and you–you are hum—"
"What the fuck, she is a vampire," I heard a scream from behind me.
Liv POV
Looking back, it was Sira who screamed, with shock written all over her face. I glared at Andrea for bringing them out. "I can't believe my ears," said Diana.
"You had to bring them out," I said irritably. "I am a vampire too," said a voice. I turned towards it to find the girl standing behind Ava. "You brought her too?" The jealousy took over me. I shook my head and walked towards Sira to explain carefully.
"Listen, guys, it's not what it—"
"No, no, no, I will explain everything to them. You have other important matters on your hands," Andrea said, nodding towards Ava, while I was standing in the middle, contemplating whether I should talk to them and defend that Ava isn't the bad one, or solve and talk with Ava about us and let Andrea handle them. I chose myself and grabbed Ava's hand, walking far away from them, putting a distance, not before stopping near the girl.
"Don't you follow us and use your hearing power on us," I said with a stern voice, pointing my finger at her, making her sure that I am dead serious. "Do you understand?" I asked her. I might have felt some touch of Ava on my back to stop scaring the girl, but I had to.
"Yes," she stuttered, making me let out a small hum in agreement. "Chloe, come with me. I might need some help making them understand." said Andrea.
"What, are you going to kill me? Kill Diana first. I want to talk to my wife and say goodbye to my kids."
"What, no. I have a wife too waiting for me. Kill Sira first."
I let out a big sigh in frustration. This is not what I had planned for my day, and I haven't even finished my food or, forget that, have finished my coffee yet. "Guys, no one's killing anyone. Just they will explain and answer all your questions." I tightly gripped Ava's hand and walked further away from the station.
"You scared her, you know that," is the first thing she said. A small grin planted itself on my face. "Good, that was my motive. I don't trust that girl."
"She did say in the morning when you left that she gets the vibe that you hate her." I raised my brows. "She did? Well, she isn't fully wrong. I just don't know how to say it. I don't hate her, but I don't trust her, but there's no reason for me to not trust her." Ava looked at me with an amused look.
"What?" I questioned.
She shook her head. "You are jealous." My mouth was agape. I know I was jealous, but I didn't want to hear it from someone else, and that too from Ava. "Your silence says that it's the truth."
"I am not going to deny it. I mean if the cat's out of the bag, then what is there to deny?" She hummed and looked somewhere else, I guess waiting for me to speak up. "I am sorry for this morning. What I did was wrong. I shouldn't have lied to you," I said apologetically, not wanting to look up at her to see her disappointed face after I had confessed my feelings. I could feel her stare, but I didn't look up.
"Will you look at me?" she asked with a breaking voice. I looked up immediately as I heard it. Tears, tears were streaming down her cheeks. Forgetting everything I had going on in my mind, I walked towards her, cupped her face, and wiped her tears off with the pads of my thumb.
"Please don't cry. I don't like it when you cry," I said with a slow and shaky voice, scared I might break down too with her, but I gotta be strong here for her.
"I don't know what to do, Liv." No emotion and feeling can compare to the way she calls me Liv.
"I did forgive you for everything you did, but it was my overthinking mind that made me question why so suddenly you knew that you liked me at that time. Then the questions got worse, thinking that you and your family made a new plan to kill me and my family altogether. I tried to ignore it, but I couldn't. And then that day when we went on a date to start again, my overthinking mind went on, making me remember all the times we spent together. My feelings were real for you, but for you it was just a plan to you."
"Ava, I did have feelings for you, but during all our meeting, I kept those feelings back in my head. I ignored all the signs just because I still had the voice in my head, ringing, telling me that vampires don't have feelings; they kill humans to satisfy their cravings, and nothing else matters. That's why I ignored all the signs and made my motive to kill you. But those small moments we shared, the kisses and hugs, they were all genuine. All those things brought me calmness inside my body, and nothing else, Ava. But after that date night when you questioned me, I started to think through everything. When I realized, I made a thing to talk to you, but that girl came in, and jealousy got the best of me. I thought maybe you didn't want to do anything with me anymore. She's a girl who is also a vampire, and you are a vampire. You guys have more chances than you being with me, with all the obstacles and shit because I am a human. So I stepped back and thought that keeping distance from you is good for myself."
I said it all out, nothing to hide. Now it's all on her to make decision
"Are you fucking nuts?" she screamed, hitting my chest.
"You just screamed your feelings at me, I LOVE YOU, and now you are saying you took a step back because I didn't want anything to do with you. God, Liv, I was scared. Scared after hurting you that night. I was scared to show you my face, scared that you might not want to start something new or do anything with me. You knew I loved you long before, fuck that it was a love at first sight for me. Even after all we have been through with you, I will just forget everything and be with Chloe just because she is a vampire? How stupid of you to think that. She is like an adopted sister to me."
"Chloe?" I questioned.
"Chloe, Liv... Chloe— You don't know her name, do you? Her name is Chloe." Oh, I nodded my head, understanding this new information. How come I didn't know her name, and everyone else did? Maybe I was busy getting jealous over something that was not real. Fuck you, Liv. But then she also said she loved me. This means she doesn't love me now.
"I am sorry for that night when I attacked you. I don't know what came over me. Maybe I was angry and fed up, and then it all got mixed with the rogues threatening Ben's life. I didn't think about what I was doing. I am really sorry, Liv. I wouldn't do that to you," she said, coming a bit closer, with tears again brimming in her eyes but not falling this time. I didn't do anything except pull her towards me and hug her.
"Don't be sorry. It's okay. I understand. It's not your fault," I said, pulling back and caressing her cheeks, feeling her cold, soft cheek under my thumbs. All the emotions I ignored those times were resurfacing in me. How stupid was I to ignore these feelings all those times.
"Can I ask you one question?" she nodded her head. I took a deep breath in.
"Do you not love me now?" I asked, staring right into her deep brown eyes. Although the sunlight was a paid actor, because of it, her eyes were shining bright. A mischievous smile crept up on her face. She slowly leaned forward, her eyes kept moving from my eyes to my lips, and I reciprocated. I did the same, nothing until our lips met, and we kissed, slow, gentle, and filled with emotions.
She pulled back and smiled, saying, "Does that answer your question?"
