The town was growing. When walking down paths formed, the sounds and sights of constant construction surrounding newer spots further around the path. The position was perfect, expanding further down the uneven terrain on the outskirts of mirkwood forest. Awarthon found himself in a medical wing most frequently or helping with construction. When he wasn't doing that, he was being a host to his friends who stayed in a smaller place near to the elves. Legolas had been with Tauriel to start finding ways to protect them selves and to hunt. While Kili and Thorin, mostly Thorin, seemed to give advice to Awarthon about being a king, even if he didn't want any nor wish to be a king. Awarthon just wanted to help them, for he felt he had to help these people without a home. Like how Radagast and Gandalf had, it was his way of paying it forward.
At the end of the week, Awarthon looked exhausted. It's a rare sight for an elf, but one Legolas had grown familiar to seeing his father with. It bothered Legolas how often Awarthon stretched himself so thin. It was unhealthy and well, and Legolas needed attention as well. Warm tea steeped in a pot with two tea cups on a tray that Legolas carried over to his stressed-out partner. He set the tea down and sat next to Awarthon on the bench. Not a word needed to be spoken as the ghostly Elf laid his head upon Legolas's shoulder with a deep heavy sigh.
"Rest... Awarthon," Legolas cooed as he shifted to better hold the warlock. Undoing the braid to renew the weeks stress. "The People grow weary seeing you streched so thin..." he said as he ran his fingers through the waves kissing the top of his head. "I grow weary without you being by my side," he admitted softly.
A pause lingered in the air, "I just wish to do good... Legolas, " he spoke softly. "I didn't realize how much I have taken on. But I feel as if I have to," he spoke softly, looking outside to the nature that poked outside the walls that would protect them. "Have to push on to keep everything running so smoothly. We are mearly a forth of the way done and there -"
Legolas took a deep breath, "Awarthon..." he cut him off, "you have done so much... you deserve time," he added softly, reaching his hand down, dragging his fingertips down Awarthons arm to hold his hand. "You worry so much about everyone else. You neglect yourself. It's time you give up some responsibilities to me, Begilda, Cenred, and Xander. They all held strong positions when you're away they can help you Awarthon. You're not alone anymore. You manage to get a bunch of outcasts to unite together," Legolas spoke softly and kissed Awarthons knuckles. "Even If you had hundreds more citizens progress would still be slow and hard. We have made enough progress to last through the elements... and to have a celebration,"
"And what do you suppose we celebrate?" Awarthon asked as he grabbed the tea with his free hand, looking at the pile of plans in front of him.
"You keep promising me a wedding," Legolas teased with a sassy smile that made Awarthon roll his eyes at.
He turned to face Legolas so their legs were interwoven, and his hair flowed down to his shoulders. "I suppose a village needs a ruler and his consort," he teased back and kissed his nose. Legolas brought a hand up to coil a finger around a ringlet of white hair. Lips pressed against each other once more in a rare fashion.
______ cw: risqué making out
The kisses deepened, and Legolas gladly let Awarthon take charge of the kiss. Setting a hand on the small of the warlocks waist and the other cupping the back of his neck. Awarthon, holding onto Legolas' shoulders as he hovred over the slightly taller male. Small rose buds grew along Awarthons arms but not a single thorn. Their lips danced in an intricate rhythm as they pulled each other closer each second that passed. Legolas's hand dancing along the pale white hair. Awarthon slowly crawled on top of him, his hands finding Legolas's chest and face.
Their breath was heavy as they fell deeper into a rhythm with their bodies as well. As if tree branches moving with the wind and the ways the river runs down a stream smoothly over rocks over time, eroding them to be soft and smooth. Breaths seemed to last only a second before they connected again. The land was in agreement with this unity. It had been long put off.
