Miranda's pov
I wake up on my 30th birthday with my mom standing over me holding a happy bday cake. "Whoa mom how'd you get in my house?!" I cry, caught off guard. "Ya gave me a key." She says. She sings happy birthday to me and I blow the candles out. "I missed you mom." I say, hugging her. She smiles and pulls me to her car after I get ready. We're listening to the kix 106 radio station. I want to listen to one specific song but I don't have my CD with me. I slump in my seat. "Hey mom have you ever tried calling in to the radio station to request a song?" I ask. She shakes her head. "Give it a shot." She says. I'm giddy with nerves as I wait for an answer.

I'm co hosting on the kix brooks radio show today. I sit back in my chair with the big headphones on and the mic in front of my face waiting for him to start. I balance a pencil on the tip of my finger, bored. "OK, ladies and gentlemen. We'll start with a caller. Caller you're on the air." Kix says. "Yes, I'd love to request a song if that's okay." She says. "Of course go ahead, what song?" He asks. "My favorite country star Jason Aldean's new single tonight looks good on you." She replies. I'm caught off guard. I almost fall out of my chair. Kix laughs. "It just so happens we have that country star here today. And he almost fell out of his seat when you said his name." He says. "What?! Really, oh my gosh!!" She cries, "Can he hear me?!" "Loud and clear." I say, smiling. "Oh wow, this is a dream come true, getting talk to you!" She says, making me smile. "What's your name?" I ask. "Miranda." She says, "oh man, you should see the shocked look on my mom's face right now." She says laughing. "How about I sing it to you live." I say. "Oh my gosh, that is like the best birthday present ever!" She says. "Oh it's your birthday today?" Kix asks. "Yeah, this'll sure be one I'll never forget. I got to talk with my idol!" She says. "Ya got yourself a real big fan, Jason." He says, nudging my arm. "Well happy birthday Miranda and now for that song." I reply.

I'm speechless. This has been the greatest 10 minutes of my life. Mom is just smiling away. He finishes singing. "What do ya think?" He asks. "Perfect as usual." I gasp, dreamily. I hear him laugh. He's got the cutest laugh. I can't get it out of my head. "Thank you so much, that meant the world to me." I say. They have to get on with the show so I have to end the call but I'll still listen. "Well that was an interesting experience." Kix says. "You said it man, it's very rare I get to have real conversations with fans like that." Jason says. He liked having a conversation with me. He's so awesome. "I wonder how old she was turning." He says. Kix laughs. "Maybe you should call her back." He says teasingly. "Ya think I should?" Jason asks. My eyes go wide. He wants to call me back. "She's probably doing birthday stuff. I don't want to interrupt it." He says. No! My chances of talking to him again hang by a thread. "The way she sounded, she'd give up an arm and a leg to talk to you again." He says. Ain't that the truth! Mom pulls over to the side to see what happens. "I'm gonna take this one privately." He says. I scream. He's going to call me again! Mom laughs like crazy. "Well folks I think this will go down in radio history." Kix says. I get out of my mom's car and wait for my phone to ring. I lean against a building then someone comes out of it. I look up and it's Jason himself! I try not to faint. I'm gonna let him call me so he realizes that it's me. I didn't even know I was right outside the radio station. He dials my number and puts it to his ear. My phone starts ringing and my ringtone is tonight looks good on you. He looks over at me. "Wait a minute, you're the girl from earlier?" He asks. I nod with a big smile. "Well than I guess I don't have to call you back, do I?" He says, smiling. "I guess not." I reply. He puts his phone in his pocket. "I'm turning 30 by the way." "I guess you were listening to the broadcast, huh?" He asks. I nod.

What a stroke of luck that she was outside the radio station. I'm beyond shocked at how perfect everything fell into place. She walks to her car where an older woman gets out. "I reckon this is your sister." I joke. She laughs. "Nice first impression but no this is my mom and her rusty ol station wagon. I so wish we drove my truck now. I just didn't think I'd run into the coolest country music singer of this generation." She says. Aw so she drives a truck! "You're a truck driver too." I say. She nods and leans against her mom's car. "A gas guzzlin' white Ford F-150 raptor." She says. My eyes go wide. "OK, you drive the same truck as me, you're a fan of my music, we both are about the same age, you just happen to be right outside the radio station. It's like we were...." My voice trails off and I look away awkwardly. "Like we were what?" She asks, looking up at me. "Meant to meet." I finish. "If that's what this is remind me to thank the people who decide that." She says, smiling and staring at me dreamily. "You aren't one of those crazy fans are ya? The creepy stalker ones?" I ask. "No, I just am a huge fan. I'm no stalker. I only stak the ones I wanna kill." She jokes in a fake scary voice making me laugh. "You don't think your mom'll mind if I take ya out for your birthday instead?" I ask. "I think she'll be fine with it." She says, looking over her shoulder at her mom. She waves her away. "Get outta here already. I've been waiting for you to find someone already." She jokes. "Who woulda thought it would be my hero." She whispers to herself probably not wanting me to hear but I heard anyway. "What was that?" I ask innocently. Her cheeks go red. "Nothing!" She gasps, looking away. I glance at the sky. "Well darlin' we're burnin' daylight." I say. She pushes off the car and follows me to my truck. "First before this goes any further. I don't date anyone who doesn't believe in God. You are a Christian right?" I ask. "Whoa wait did you just say we're going on a date?!" She gasps. I nod. "And yes full on christian. I go to church every Sunday and am proud to say I'm a God fearin' hard working' country girl." She says. I smile and open the door. "After you miss." I say, tilting my hat and helping her up. I go to my side. "So what's the plan?" She asks. I shrug. "I'm just gonna wing it." I say, smiling.
