Genevieve decided to visit her new friend the following week. When she got there, Ashlynn brought Genevieve to a field. It was filled with delicate, white flowers. "What is this place?" Genevieve asked, in awe of the beauty.

"It's a wildflower field," Ashlynn explained. "Wildflowers grow freely without humans planting them. They are resilient and free which is also the essence of the rebellion. It's a nice place to relax, especially when you lose someone you love. No one really bothers you here. It's a pretty tranquil place." She walked deeper into the field, additional flowers appearing in her wake.

"Who have you lost?" Genevieve asked tentatively, seeing pain in Ashlynn's eyes.

"My sister and father," said Ashlynn, looking out across the flower heads, eyes glossed over. "I tried to accept that they're gone, but I just feel like, what if they're still alive? But that's just false hope. Nothing can be done to make them come back to me."

While Genevieve had gradually grown apart from them, Dorien and Chelsea were still some of the most important people in her life. Genevieve pressed her lips in a bittersweet smile as she thought about the last laughs they had together. But here in this endless serenity, for once her pain was gradually floating away, over the petals of the wildflowers.
