twenty eight.

 A sigh escapes his mouth as soon as he takes a seat on the bench. The sky is gloomy, it might be raining soon. Is this how it ends? Just as he was busy in his own thoughts, sounds of footsteps approached him. He looks up, hoping it would be her even though he knows there's no way she would show up to talk to him.

"Are you okay, Jaeyun?" Aera asked, full of concern for him. She takes a seat beside him without asking his permission first. She smiles to herself when Jaeyun doesn't push her away. "I'm sorry.. it's all my fault.." she suddenly started crying.

Jaeyun turned to look at her. "Aera, don't cry.. it's not particularly your fault.."

"How could I not? Because of me.. your relationship with Iseul is ruined. It's my fault for being a little selfish.. I just.. I just can't help it. I love you, Jaeyun. I really do! My feelings for you are sincere!" She holds his hands, not letting it go.

Jaeyun stares at her, not knowing what to say. Aera holding his hand is enough to make him feel nervous as he looks around to make sure no one saw it.

"Is it a crime to fall in love with someone's boyfriend? Why can't it be me? Why must Iseul? Jaeyun, answer me. After what happened, do you still love Iseul?"

"I.. that's not a question I can answer right now. You see.. our relationship.. is not good. Iseul has avoided me and I don't know until when she is going to avoid me." Jaeyun looks down.

"Avoid you? I doubt that. It's probably because she has feelings towards Jungwon. Unlike you, she looks happy to be with Jungwon. Ah, right.. isn't Jungwon used to be her crush?" Aera knows about Iseul's past. It's not difficult to find it and also she can use the information she gets to stir up the situation between Iseul and Jaeyun more. She couldn't help but feel more than happy to see how both of them are slowly losing trust in each other. "Do you know, Jaeyun.. I heard that people could never forget about their first love. No matter how happy they're in their current relationship, they still remember their memories with their first love."

If her plans go well, Jaeyun can finally be hers. It won't take long till the day they decide to break up. She must use this chance to comfort Jaeyun so that he knows that she cares for him.

"Aera... how about you go out with me?"

"Argh!! Do you want me to kill you badly?! What have you done, idiot!" Heeseung groans as he rolls on Jaeyun's bed. "Going out? With Aera? I guess you really want to break up with Iseul, huh."

"No! That's not going to happen."

"Then, why did you do that?" He crosses his arms, glaring at Jaeyun.

"I just want to see if it's true or not.. I want to confirm if Iseul really has a feeling towards Jungwon. You said it before, right? Why should I only think about Iseul? I have feelings too. I feel jealous.. very jealous to see her with Jungwon. I want her to be jealous too.."

He knows this plan of his is stupid and risky. There's only going to be two results. Iseul feels jealous or Iseul might hate him more. Maybe, at that time he will decide whether to let her go or not. If she really has feelings for Jungwon, he will break up with her. After all, he can't force her to love him. He wants Iseul to be happy and it doesn't mean Iseul can only be happy with him. Maybe someone like Jungwon who can make her happier and protect her. He knows Jungwon can make Iseul happy more than anyone.

The loud thunder startled him. He picked up the bottle that fell before putting it inside the fridge. "It's been raining heavily at night these past few days." Jungwon walks to the counter after adding the stocks.
