"Iseul, did you hear that?"
"Huh? What..?" Iseul is startled when she just noticed the girls talking to her since she has been spacing out in her seat. She stared confusedly at them.
"We saw Jaeyun and Aera being together on a field trip. They never leave each other's side! Oh! Aera also tripped and got injured so Jaeyun carried her on his back."
"Did you guys break up?"
Iseul looks away, "No. We're still together." What's the point of telling her this? To help her? She doubts that because these girls were also spreading bad rumours about her when she got into a relationship with Jaeyun.
"Oh.. really?" They slowly walked away from her while talking to each other. "What's so hard about breaking up with him? I guess she can't let him go since he's her first boyfriend. Pfft— haha!" They laughed.
See? There's no good intention at all. Iseul just ignored them, facing to her left but as soon as her eyes met Jungwon's, she quickly turned to the other side. Just great. Now, I'm awkward with both Jaeyun and Jungwon. She grabs a fistful of her hair, feeling stressed with her problem.
"Iseul—" Jungwon didn't get to reach her when she suddenly got up and left the classroom. He thought she was ignoring him but she just needed to use the restroom and she didn't hear him.
Iseul fastened her steps to the restroom and when she turned at the corner, she accidentally bumped into someone's chest. She almost falls if it's not for the person to catch her. "I'm sorry.." She rubs her forehead.
"Are you okay?" The voice immediately made Iseul to distance herself from him.
She glances at Jaeyun before staring back at the floor, avoiding his eyes. Now when she thinks about it, she's barely seen Jaeyun. Obviously, it's her fault for avoiding him because everytime she sees him, she can't help but to remember the awful past. They used to have a hard time separating from each other before. She misses their old relationship.
"Iseul, are you really okay? You're not responding to me—" Jaeyun's eyes widened when he noticed her crying. He cups her cheeks, making her to look at him. "What's wrong, Iseul?" The look on his face shows that he's concerned about her.
"I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry.." That's all she could say. She knows she has been too harsh on him. She didn't let him explain. She turned her back from him just because of one mistake. Other than what happened at the camping, Jaeyun never failed to be a perfect boyfriend for her. She was scared.
Jaeyun stares at her, his thumbs gently wiping the tears that come out from her eyes. It has been a long time since he gets to lay a finger on the girl he loves, staring deeply into her eyes. He was hurt from her actions but he couldn't do the same. He couldn't ignore her cry. He couldn't avoid her. He loves her.
"Iseul.. you've done nothing wrong to apologise to me. I'm the one who should apologise to you," He hugged her, patting her back.
They stood there for a few minutes before Iseul finally stopped crying and he let her go. Iseul feels embarrassed to cry in front of him. She decided to do something about this situation. She needs to fix the relationship. She doesn't mind about the past. They can forget about the past and act like nothing happens.
"Jaeyun—"
"Iseul, I need to say something." Jaeyun speaks as he couldn't hear Iseul calling his name too.
"Huh? What is it..?" Iseul feels nervous all of the sudden.
"I think we should take a break."
"Take a break? I don't understand.." It's not that she really doesn't get what he means by that but she wants to make sure she doesn't misunderstand his words.
"Let's take a break from this relationship. I will give you time to think. Iseul, you know that your happiness is the most important thing to me. I've been thinking about this for a while but I don't think I'm the one for you. I feel like, if we keep this relationship longer, if I don't let you go, I will just hurt you more. I ask you this instead of breaking up because you might disagree with it. So.. I will give you time to think."
Iseul looks at him in disbelief. Did she hear it right? "Why are you telling me this? Is it because of me?"
"Well, I just thought you might feel exhausted being in this relationship." Honestly, I'm tired too. How can I not when you keep avoiding me? I don't want to break up with you, that's why I came up with this but if you feel tired too, if you want to break up, there's nothing I can do. It's your happiness that matters.
"So.. are you really going to give up on me? If I ask for a break up, will you say yes to it?" Iseul asks, knowing she might regret it but if Jaeyun says otherwise, if he says no to it, she will do anything to fix their relationship. But of course, sometimes things didn't go as planned. Life isn't easy most of the time.
Iseul's hands dropped to her side as soon as she heard his answer. She watches him walking away from her, far from her reach.
"Yes, I will if that's what you want."

"You're seriously concerning me, do you know that?" Sunghoon watches his sister finish all the food on the tables. Just a few days ago, she refused to eat anything and today, nothing is enough to make her full.
"You don't need to worry. I'm totally fine now. Totally." She keeps filling her mouth with the meat. It must be because she skipped meals for a while but she's really hungry. Or maybe there's another reason that makes her feel hungry.
After eating, she goes to her room, locking herself in it. She sighs, looking around her messy room. She hasn't cleaned it for a month. It's literally because of what happened, she had no energy to clean it. If people see this, they might think she has depression or something.
"I will clean it later.." She jumps on the bed, feeling sleepy all of the sudden.
"Yes, I will." She suddenly remembered her conversation with Jaeyun two days ago.
"That easy? Are you really giving me up that easy? Ughh Sim Jaeyun! I really hate you!" She feels a little bad for saying that since it's her fault too but she never plans on giving up their relationship. How could he do this to her..
Knock , knock
"Who?" Iseul asks because Sunghoon isn't the type to politely knock on her door. He would just barge in. Her parents aren't at home either.
"It's me, Jungwon. I brought a game to play. Do you want to play with me?"
Ah.. how could she forget about him. Sunghoon didn't know what happened between the two of them so obviously he will let Jungwon inside the house. She opened the door, looking up at the smiley face in front of her. It should be fine if I pretend to forget about what happened.
"Oh, new game? Let's go play in the living room."

Jaeyun steps out of the bathroom when his phone rings on the table. He went to get his phone, his smile grew wider when he saw the caller. He picks up the phone, "Mom!" He sat on the soft mattress, wanting to talk to his mother. He misses her so much!
"Oh yeah? I'm good," He's not really in a good condition but he doesn't want to worry her. They talk about each other's day for an hour when his mother says she needs to end the call since she has work to do. "Alright. I will call you later.. huh? What is it?"
"Next month? For two months?" He frowns, listening to his mother's request. "Erm.. I think I can go. Yeah, don't worry! See ya, I love you!" He tosses the phone to the bed and walks up to the calendar hanging on the wall.
There's a red circle around the date. It's the final exams. That means, he needs to go as soon as the exams finish.
