Chapter two

Together with Angela and Talia, Katie was at the hospital the next morning to pick up Tim.

"Will take a taxi. " he replied to the nurses question. "So this is what we are for you?? " Angela's voice rang out as the three women came down the hallway.

Surprised, he looked at her, because he didn't expect all three of them to show up. He was expecting Katie even though he told her he was going to take a taxi home.

"Do you know why we weren't told when he was coming out?? Because he's a tough guy. " commented Talia. "Because he doesn't need any help " Katie added. "Are you done now?? " he wanted to know and rolled his eyes already annoyed, but all three shook their heads, they were not finished yet.

There was one more thing missing. A picture of them with Tim in a wheelchair.

Yeah, and even the nurse went along with all the fun.

Arriving at work, Katie was the only one not present for the meeting. She had given Tim a ride home and then she had gone to work herself.

Naomi was waiting for her by the car. She had already packed the equipment where it belonged.

"Adam-7-23. Break-in 7 and Wittger. " it rang out on the radio. (I don't know if there's an address, it's made up)

"Adam-7-23. We're taking over. " Naomi returned after receiving a nod of approval from her instructor.

It was an old couple who had lived in this house for years, and Katie knew the older couple from other burglaries that had taken place there. This time it was a teenager who needed money to pay his tuition.

They quickly arrested him, and while Parker was bringing him into the car, Offizer Winters turned to the couple. "Here's my card. Get in touch with me if something is missing that we have not noticed. " she said. Quickly, the wife nodded and thanked her very much. "They seem to like her. " Naomi remarked as they were back in the car, Katie quickly nodded and then turned back to the road.

"So, Officer Parker. Show me how to make an arrest. " the trainer challenged her rookie, who was a bit surprised at first.

"Eh...first get the prisoner out of the car.
Then... check the backseat.
Next, we'll take off our shoes and socks.
Then you remove the jewelry.
Then we take fingerprints and handprints.
Time for the mugshot.
At the end, go to the cell. " Officer Parker explained and did the things she explained.

"Then you have to go to the head of the service, who signs the papers. " she added and went to Sargent Grey with Officer Winters. "Officer Parker. Good job. " Grey praised her and released her.

For lunch, Katie was about to get something to eat when she got a message she didn't expect.
It was a friend of hers. Amber Wright. Katie and she shared the same hobby. Ballet. And now Amber had suggested that they meet again to do some training.

She's been fascinated by ballet ever since Katie was little She had even considered becoming famous and making money with the ballet, but she threw the dream over. Officer Winters and Officer Parker were once again called to an operation involving a bunch of juveniles selling drugs.

The next morning, yet in the same shift, everyone was called together.

"Her name is Emma Vasquez. Reported missing three weeks ago. Homicide thinks she was left behind by Chris. " Grey told everyone. And the captain was also present. "I authorized extra shifts until we find the woman. " she said. "Everyone will listen in between their deployments. Is there anything else?? " Grey asked the woman standing next to him, the captian. "Officer Nolan! The vehicle fleet wanted to send a killer after them because of all the damage to the vehicle. I put them there to a different solution. " the captain scolded Nolan and then led the force to the vehicle hall where there was a very old car that Nolan and Bishop must have been driving today.

"Have fun. " Katie laughed at her friend before getting back to work with her rookie herself.

„Lucy is doing the most boring assignments all the time, now that Bradford is not back at work yet." Naomi told her instructor which officer Chen felt sorry for, because she knew how her current instructor, Scott Wrigley, worked only what couldn't mean possible shootings or accidents. She had Wrigley as a trainer for a whole month before getting a new one.

"Adam-7-15!! Need help, shooting, Bailey Avenue 2311!! " Talia's hunted voice rang out over the radio. "
Adam-7-21, here we come. "
Adam-7-23, here we come. " was heard by Officer Chen and Officer Winters at the same time.

They could get all the help they needed, especially since Chen was kind of on his own.

Arriving at the scene, Nolan was already inside the house and Talia had just found another entrance.

"I'm going in. Parker, you go with Bishop. " Katie told Naomi, and entered the house holding a gun.

The ground floor was empty, but the door to the basement was open, so she took careful steps down the steps. After about a meter walk down there, she found Nolan. The next moment, Chen and Wrigley had arrived in the basement and Nolan had disappeared from the window.

"Parker?? Where are you?? " she wanted to know on the radio. "Join Bishop in pursuit of the suspect. " Naomi response in return. "Keep at it. I'll follow them. " Katie said, and then turned to Chen.

"Can you do the rest by yourself?? " with a nod, they both confirmed, and so Officer Winters ran up the stairs as fast as she could and got into the car and tracked the coordinates of Bishop's car.

They chased the suspect through Rosewood Cemetery, but before Katie arrived, Nolan had brought him to the ground and Talia handcuffed him.

Amber was waiting for her at the station so that Katie and her could drive to the dance studio, but before they could leave, she discovered her best friend at the station.

"I'm back. I just dropped off my papers ." he rejoiced and had a radiant smile on his face. "Congratulations. " Katie said. "Would you like to have a drink to celebrate?? " Tim suggested, and Katie would have liked to have a drink with him, but she hadn't seen Amber in a long time and agreed to meet her.

"I can't today. I've got plans. Maybe tomorrow?? " she cautiously refused, and she thought she could see how his expression seemed to change into sadness.

"Yes... um... sure. Have fun. " he quickly said goodbye to her before disappearing towards Lucy.

He probably did want to tell her he'd be back tomorrow. Katie quickly shook off her thoughts and headed outside to meet Ambar.

The evening could begin.
