Chapter eight

After the earthquake and the subsequent events, everyone was now safe again.

After Angela was back from her assignment and her and Katie's shift were over, they drove together to a supermarket and bought 2 tests. Then they drove home to Angela and she forced her best friend into the bathroom, because Katie was afraid to take the test since they had bought it.

Nervously, she put both tests on the floor in front of her and then sat down next to Angela. "What if he is positive?" Katie asked anxiously about the result, which would seem the same. "Do you want it to be him?" The black-haired asked her friend. "I've always wanted to have children. A baby with Tim his brown hair and his blue eyes. But I didn't plan for it to happen so early. I just got back to work...." Katie was quite overwhelmed with the current situation. She liked to plan things ahead.

A few seconds later, the timer rang, because the waiting time was over. "Do you want to watch?" Angela asked and took the test in her hand, but Katie shook her head.

When she discovered the disappointed look of her best friend, Katie immediately became sad. "How is he negative?" She asked sadly. "So you wanted it to show a positive result?" Angela grinned. "Somehow already..." Katie replied depressed. "Well, then we can be happy that he is positive. You are pregnant." the black-haired woman was happy for her friend, who stared at her in horror. "You fooled me?"

"I just showed you what you really think," she answered and took Katie in her arms. "How should I tell Tim that?" Katie asked in a panic, but after a few minutes she was able to calm down again with the help of her friend. "You can also think about it tomorrow. Today you should be happy about the news first."

Since Katie didn't have so much to do during her next shift anyway, she made her way to the hospital alone to be able to determine again with the help of a blood test whether she was really pregnant, because the tests were not always correct.

But she didn't expect to see a certain blonde in the hospital. Natalie Winters

She hadn't seen her little sister anymore when she moved out to study, she had studied teaching and wanted to work at a primary school. They had seen each other briefly at Elliot's funeral and also talked very briefly, but that was 2 years ago. Katie didn't even know that Natalie now lived in LA.

"Nat??" Katie asked, surprised to see the blonde here. "Kat?" It was now also surprised by the younger of the two Winters sisters and they were already in each other's arms. "What are you doing here?" the older of the two asked curiously after they had sat down on one of the benches inside the corridors. "My boyfriend was shot," Natalie replied sadly. "Your boyfriend?" Katie wanted to know, whose face was adorned with a huge grin. "Yes... He is a firefighter. I teach his son's class and after a while we got closer. He is an angel. His name is Eddie," Nat raved and her cheeks took on a rosy tone when she spoke about the young man. "I'm happy for you little sister," said the family police officers honestly.

"But now enough of me. What are you doing here?" Natalie now asked her older sister. "I'm pregnant. I just wanted to have this confirmed again, because the tests from the supermarket are not entirely trustworthy," she babbled. "Stop, stop, stop. Are you pregnant? From who?" Natalie interrupted her. "Do you remember Tim?" Katie asked and nodding confirmed the blonde. " How couldn't I remember him? You, Angela and Tim always hung out with each other." Natalie laughed and thought back in time. And a few seconds passed in which she realistic what her sister wanted to imply with it. "Wait?? You and Tim?? Finally!!! I knew that something was going to happen between the two of you." she was happy. "Yes...it obviously does..." said Katie with very red cheeks.

The two talked for a while before Katie finally decided to leave, otherwise she would never arrive at the district and would get into a lot of trouble. So the two sisters said goodbye to each other and decided to go out to eat together in the near future.

The blood tests had confirmed it. Katie was pregnant. She was expecting Tim's child. How should she tell him that?

After the news, Katie made her way to a baby shop, she had been looking for ideas on how to tell her friend since last night after taking the test.

She had found two rompers and took both with her because she couldn't decide. She would tell him tomorrow.
