Shortly afterwards, Katie and Camila go to the coroner to find out about the second corpse.
"Solomon." Katie greets him kindly. "Hey, Winters. Your mess here?" He asks jokingly. "For the time being," she says and smears a bit of the gel user's nose which helps with the smell. "May I introduce you? Detectiv Baker. My new partner." she briefly introduces Camila to him.
"I just got them in, so they don't expect too much." he waits for the two women not to have too many hopes. "Our clock is ticking. The fresher corpse must be identified quickly. What are the chances of a fingerprint?" Camila wanted to know now. "Equal to zero. The meat falls from the bone here. Maybe I manage to rehydrate the skin for an impression but... that takes a few hours," he suggested to her while Katie took care of the evidence photos. "Okay...please as soon as possible."
"Is there anything they can show us when we're here?" Katie asked him. "The bodies are in very different conditions. The older one doesn't even have hands and feet anymore. Any idea where they are?" But both women shook their heads. "The younger corpse has no visible premortal mutilations," Solomon explained to them. "We know that this is another perpetrator. What do they say about the cause of death?" Camila pierced him with crossed arms. "Presumably suffocation. Do you see the petechiae on the face?"
"She was strangled?" I suspect Katie was wrong. "I don't think so. No gags. The face has intradermal bleeding as if she had screamed for hours. In addition, all nails are broken," Solomon explained. "She tried to free herself from anything before she ran out of air."
"What is that? That there." Camila wanted to know who had looked at the body. "That was apparently fresh when she came underground," said the coroner. "Does that mean she was tattooed shortly before her death?" Katie asked stunned. "Well, I have to check it even more closely, but it looks like this."
"DOD 6819." read the blonde-haired. "This could be a date, June, eighth 2019. That would be six months tomorrow. DOD means Day of Death, anniversary of death."
With this new information, the two drove back to the district. Where a survey between Rosalind and Nick was to take place, but Rosalind preferred Katie, for whatever strange reasons, but they needed information. So she would do the survey as Rosalind wanted. Tim, Lucy, Camila and Nick would search their cell in the women's prison to find anything helpful.
"Here I am. As desired," Katie said very tense in the presence of this woman, who wouldn't be tense?
"You don't sound very confident," she commented when the black-haired woman sat on the bench opposite her and said: " "You did."
"The best thing about being caught was to re-experience every detail with Nick. I wouldn't have thought so. How much I enjoy sharing these experiences. To see how people scare. Don't get me wrong. It didn't intoxicate me as much as the murders themselves, I had months of something." This woman was truly a psychopath who enjoyed hurting others.
"Who killed the woman in the grave?" Katie finally asked her, the question that everyone wanted to have answered. "The negotiation. God, that was madness. With cops, you have to make an effort to recognize the shock behind their wall. But the jury...uhhh..oh.. and the families... Mhmmm.. I ate her pain like a five-course menu." Rosalind simply ignored her.
"Where do they want to go?" She asked Katie played sadly when she stood up and wanted to leave. "Back to work. Let me know if you have enjoyed yourself enough." she said annoyed by her behavior, the redhead but she stopped her. "Wait. Tell me about the body that was found. I could only see her face before they put me in the car. How did she die?"
So Katie sat down again. "The external assessment showed that she was probably suffocated. Probably in a kind of container. There are indications of intradermal bleeding," she told her. "Stupid child. Wasting so much air with screaming, which has shortened her life by about an hour. What about their hands? Did she try to free herself?" Rosalind smiled. "Yes. Yes, I guess the last hours of their lives were terrible. So now I told them something, so tell me something!" He cleverly changed the subject.
"Slowly Detectiv Winters. We are still in the prelude phase," she grinned arrogantly. "Then give me what turns me on. How did the murderer know how to find your grave site?" He wants to know. "Because I told him." she knocked out hard and made everyone pause. So Rosalind had an accomplice.
"What about them? What would they do if they sat in this case, like this little one? Would they use up the air and get it over as quickly as possible? Or persevere?" Asked the redhead and leaned a bit forward to Katie. "I would persevere as long as I could," she replied, thinking of her son. And to Tim.. even if they weren't exactly on the same right now, she still loved him and that wouldn't change so quickly.
"They would only make it harder for themselves," said Rosalind. "I would give my friends the chance to find the best possible chance of finding me in time," she explained her point of view. "Maybe that's the difference." What kind of nonsense was Rosalind talking about? "Between?" Katie asked her with raised eyebrows. "You... and me.. As a small child, I always knew that no one came to save me. Is that why they are so good? Yes Ma'am. No Ma'am. Serve and protect..." but the black-haired interrupted her. "I'm good because I don't have a broken brain, so they give us something reasonable now or we'll take them back to prison. Both are right for me. And to you?" Countered the black-haired.
"Okay... I'll take you to the second grave," Rosalind said. "Good. Do you think we'll find another corpse?" Katie asked and stood up. "I'm sure you will. But before that, you have to do one more for me." "And what would that be?" Katie wanted. "Ask Nick if I was worth it."
At the end of the day, they had found another woman and now finally knew that Rosalind had an ally. To end the evening, Katie had decided to meet Ethan for a drink. So Natalie had offered to take care of Elliot a little longer.
Ethan and Katie already had a few drinks intus and Katie didn't seem to be so sober anymore in contrast to Ethan who looked like he hadn't drunk a glass.
"It was a great evening. I really had fun," Katie thanked him when they left the bar, when suddenly she suddenly became very dizzy in front of her eyes and the dizziness started. She hadn't drunk that much. And already he pushed her towards his car when it became clear to her. "You put something in my drink." But she couldn't really feel the way she wanted it and she was already in Ethan's trunk and everything turned black.
