Katie would finally meet her new partner today, now that she was finally a detective.
The two women met for a coffee before the start of service, Katie's favorite café. Since Natalie wanted her sister to leave the house, she offered to take care of Elliot, as she was free today and accepted the offer gratefully to Katie.
"Detective Camila Baker." the blonde-haired introduced herself Katie and the black-haired did the same. Then they put together a table and got to know each other better. Katie found out that Camila had a daughter herself. Trixie, her father had not been in the picture for a long time that he had died when she just came to primary school. Since then there has only been Camila and Trixie and now the blonde-haired had moved to LA. She had already worked in another district but was now stationed in Mid-Wilshire and since Katie needed a partner, the two were put together and as it seemed the two fit together.
She and her new partner would also be involved in the Rosalind Dyer case.

"At five o'clock this morning, the guards in the Central California Women's Prison prepared prisoners 081316 for transport. Rosalind Dyer, the extremely rare species of a female serial killer. For the last five years, she was on death row and locked up in a tiny cell. She is coming to us today. Before I get to the details of the tasks, I want to introduce you to her new co-legin detective Camila Baker. She is the new partner of Detective Winters. And now pass it on to Assistant District Attorney Del Monte. He will tell them more about Miss Dyer. Sean?" Sargent Grey greeted his people for an appeal and briefly introduced Camila who was standing next to Katie at the end of the room and then turned to the man next to him.
Briefly Tim looked at the black-haired woman, she had some of her hair hanging on her face, but that just made it so attractive. He only managed to turn his eyes from her when Del Monte started talking. Camila did not escape the eyes that Tim threw at her partner.
"Thank you very much Sargent. Good morning everyone. My name is Sean Del Monte. For those who are not yet aware of the case: In 2015, Rosalind Dyer was convicted of murder by torture and mutilation of seven people." he began to speak but was interrupted by detective Nick Armstrong. "There are indications that the number of victims is significantly higher."
"In three of these seven murders, the bodies were never found. Now Dyer has agreed to inform us about her whereabouts," Sean simply continued undisturbed.
"Excuse me, sir? In return for what?" Nolan asked curiously. "Your death penalty will be converted into life without parole," Del Monte explained to them. "Why the hell are we showing for themselves?" Now asked Tim with his arms crossed, who was sitting between Angela and Nyla. "This is not about Dyer but the families of these victims. They finally want to be able to finish with it," Sean replied to him. "What about the other families we said about the death penalty? What happens to them? They're calling me," Nick asked pissed off, apparently he couldn't like Rosalind for whatever reason, no one but him did anything. "This increases above their detective skills." Del Monte said but the two men were interrupted by Camila.
"Why does she have to come at all? Can't she describe to them where the bodies are?"
"She claims not to know the exact place. Griffith Park has over 1700 hectares. Dyer says she is only able to identify the excavation sites if she traces her paths back from that time." Got her back in response. "Sounds like an excuse to get to the sun and relive their deeds," Nyla suspected. "Possible but she knows if she doesn't lead us to the corpses, the deal has died so..." but Sean was interrupted by Grey this time.
"Let's get down to business now. First, the police station will be closed on their arrival, new arrests will not be processed. All suspects in the arrest cells are taken to the Twin Towers," Grey explained the tasks.
The rookies and Angela, Nyla and Tim took care of the suspects at the guard while Camila and Katie discussed the project with Nick and Sean.
When everyone was clarified, Katie wanted to call her sister briefly to hear how Elliot was doing when Ethan approached her.
"Hey Katie. I didn't have time to give you my number the other day," he also greeted her right away, when Tim also had to interfere in the situation. "Hey..." she greeted him a little cautiously. "You both know each other?" Tim wanted to know and looked back and forth between the two. "Yes, we met in the hospital. She had the little screamer with her." he joked, but Tim didn't find it amusing at all. "The little screamer as you say it is my child, so let it be quiet to call him that," Tim told him. Intimidated, Ethan turned to Katie again. "Sorry. Anyways, here's my phone number," he said and wanted to give her to her, but Tim wanted to grab her. "Take your fingers away. I wanted to give it to her," Ethan said angrily, so Katie pushed the two apart. "It's okay. He's fine," she said to the curly head in front of her, so he gave Tim the note annoyed. "Do you also have a last name, Ethan??" Tim asked him annoyed. "Yes, man. Larson." he returned. "And what do they do? When you say author, you wander into a cell." Tim threatened him again. "I'm an automotive mechatronics engineer," Ethan replied before he said goodbye to Katie.
"What was that supposed to be?" Katie asked Tim annoyed when Ethan was gone. "What? I was just trying to help you," he said shrugging his shoulders. "I don't need any help and certainly not from you. I'm not a little girl," she scolded and tore the note out of his hand. "You have no right to be jealous," she said and left. "I'm not jealous!" He called after her. Although it was the complete opposite. Of course he was jealous but he had to blame the whole thing for himself.
Camila had watched the two from her desk and now twisted her eyebrows in amazement. She definitely had to talk to Katie about it.
