Two weeks after little Elliot was now born, Katie spent the evening again with Elliot alone at home. Since they were both out of the hospital, Tim worked even more than usual and hardly spent time with his family and when he was there only when she slept and when she woke up he was gone again.

Completely finished, she rocked the screaming Elliot in her arms to calm him down, but he didn't stop screaming and crying. "Elliot. Please.. It's all good... please calm down." but every attempt was in vain. Only when Eddie took Katie from him did he calm down again.

Natalie and Eddie had offered to help her with Elliot. At first Katie had refused, but after her sister had repeatedly tried to persuade her, she finally gave in and allowed herself to be helped.

"Thank you," she said crying and let herself fall on the rocking chair that was also in the room. She and Tim had set up the room together according to their ideas. A baby cradle, a changing table, a wardrobe, as well as the rocking chair and some decorative objects now decorated the children's room being walls were painted in a beautiful baby blue.

"No problem. It was exactly the same with Christopher when he was little," he says and put the now sleeping Elliot back into the cradle. He had told Natalie about Christopher's mother how she was and how she finally died and Natalie had told Katie because she needed someone to talk to.

"I just can't do it anymore. I'm so exhausted, but when I close my eyes, I still have my crying child in front of my eyes and can't fall asleep, even though I'm so damn tired," she said sadly and drove through her disheveled hair several times. "And Tim... he's never at home... it's like we're drifting further and further apart and I... I just don't know why... it's... it's up to me... or... or..." she poured out her heart to the man crying in front of her.

Eddie carefully took her in his arms and let her cry out. Before she fell asleep exhausted in his arms. So he took her carefully and his arms and put her in her own bed before he sat down on the sofa with his own girlfriend.

"She fell asleep," he said and put an arm around Natalie, who was just staring sadly at the picture she had taken when Elliot was only in the world for a few hours. "Then we'll let her sleep. She needs it," she said and snuggled up to him. It made her sad to have to see her sister like that. She thought Tim was different, but she was probably wrong.

Tim was sitting at his desk again for a day when he wasn't on the street with Chen. He thought of Katie. And to Elliot. He had noticed how Katie was doing and how done she was, he wasn't blind. But he said nothing. Nothing of his fear of becoming just as bad a father as his own. To make the same mistakes as him and never being able to correct them. Fear had already accompanied him throughout during pregnancy, but he could always banish her to the smallest corner of his brain, but since Elliot was born he no longer managed to ban these thoughts, so he did what he thought was right at the moment. He moved away bit by bit from the people he loved. As much as it hurts that may do.

He had also skillfully avoided Lucy's questions or avoided it, as well as Angela. She was Katie's best friend, including his, but she would always be on Katie's side, as Natalie did. After all, it was about her own sister.

In the evening, Katie had managed to put Elliot to sleep. Natalie and Eddie had already left a while ago after Katie had confirmed to the two several times that she would be fine. And now she was sitting on her bed waiting. She and Tim finally had to talk to each other.

A few minutes after she heard the key in the lock, Tim now entered the bedroom. He had looked for Elliot briefly. Every evening when he came home and Katie was already asleep, Tim looked briefly into the children's room and found him peacefully asleep lying there in his cradle.

"You're still awake," he said and was just about to go to the bathroom. "We have to talk." it was serious from the brown-haired one in front of him. "Sure what about?" He asked as if he didn't know exactly what she wanted to talk about. "We can't go on like this. You.. you're working all day and when I wake up in the morning you're not there either. I take care of our son alone. I can't go on like this anymore. I need you... please," she begged him but he remained silent. "TIM!" It came desperately from Katie when a crying sounded over the baby monitor. Sighing, Katie got up from the bed. "I'll take care of it."

"When I come back here, I want you to be gone," Katie said before she left the bedroom.

Sadly, Tim saw his girlfriend when they were still behind. He had messed everything up, but how could he make up for it? He couldn't think of anything, so he fulfilled her wish and quickly grabbed a few of his things that he had left here and disappeared, but not before he had taken another look at his family.

When Katie had managed to put Elliot back to sleep and Tim could no longer be found in the house, she fell into bed and finally fell asleep crying.

The next morning, Katie unfortunately had to leave the house to her displeasure, so she dragged herself out of bed and grabbed a few things from the closet before she got ready in the bathroom. So her finished outfit then consisted of a dark blue Nike hoodie and blue jeans plus a few white sneakers.

When Elliot was finished, she carefully put him in the Maxi Cosi and then stuck it in her car and drove to the hospital where the pediatrician was already waiting for her.

"Everything looks like it should be Miss Winters," he told the boy's mother. She said goodbye to the doctor and was just about to make her way back to the car when someone bumped into her.

"Excuse me, Miss." the culprit also apologized to her right away and held out his hand to her after staring at her for a moment. "I'm Ethan. Ethan Larson." introduced himself to her.

Against the voices in her head that told her to go, Katie held out her hand to him. "Katie. Katie Winters" she also introduced herself to him.
