12.Why would I? It's Matt

Back to Ellie's POV:

The panic attack I had at Madi's party last month took a lot out of me, I was so scared. I don't think I wanna plan a party or anything like that again, for the sake of my mental health.

I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I was for Matt that night.  He helped me so much.  BUT- I completely lost it when he was wiping the mascara off my face. I almost stopped breathing for the second time, Especially when he left his hand on the side of my neck for a moment after tucking some hair behind my ear. I'm not exaggerating when I say: I think my heart fully stopped.

He's been checking up on me everyday since. I keep telling him I'm alright, because I am, but he still asks. I mean, I'm not complaining at all obviously. Why would I? It's Matt. I'm taking in all the attention I can get from him.

Im playing an Obby on Roblox when I hear my phone vibrate on my desk. It's Matt.

What the hell. What the hell? That was unexpected. I don't know how to react to this conversation. A smile spreads across my face, and I giggle. I'm not sure where he's taking me, but I don't really care as long as I'm with him.

I close my laptop and get up to go get ready. I have a hard time deciding what to wear. I want to wear something nice, but I Also don't want to overdress like I always do. Once I've decided on my outfit I sit down on the couch and turn on the tv until he gets here. I put on the triplets recent video while I wait.

About 10 minutes later I see Matt's car pull up in the driveway from the window.
I quickly turn off the tv and grab my stuff.

"Hey!" I say as I get into the car. "Hey," Matt says with a smile. I buckle my seat belt as he pulls out of my driveway. I stare out the window for a minute before I say, "so where exactly are we going?"
"Wherever you want." He replies.  "Uhhh." I Laugh. "I'm not sure actually."
He smiles. "We can go to Barnes and Noble, and the mall, then we can go eat somewhere. Yeah?" He looks at me for approval. I give him an excited grin. "Ok, sounds good." I say.

We're going to Barnes and Noble first, and I already know I'm gonna buy a shit ton of books. I go absolutely feral in that store. I I would probably live there if I could. It's one of my comfort places.

Matt is really happy right now, which makes me really happy. I don't think he's stopped smiling. I love to see him like this, it's one of my favorites things. I think I've been staring at him this whole time, but I can't help it, he's just so pretty.

The first thing I look for is the next three books to the Shatter Me series. I almost scream when I find them. Matt has wandered off to go look at some other books while I'm left looking through the romance section. I end up finding two books that sound pretty good. 

While I'm reading the back of a book someone taps my shoulder. I turn around to see Matt with the goofiest grin on his face, hiding something behind him.
