A/N: Thank you to those who are reading this story. I know that I haven't published anything in a while. I had a baby in the summer last year so have been a little busy.

The first official Trial came round soon enough. A couple of days later, Izuku was making his way to the Grand Hall with Uraraka. He had separated himself from the Alphas after the mock fight, he needed time to think about what had happened. Hiding himself away in his own corner of his library had kept his head and emotions level.

The young Omega Prince was anxious about the first Trial, yet he also couldn't help but feel excited as he hoped that it would cut the Alpha list down drastically. Out of all three Trials, this one didn't require any physical demand. All Izuku was required to do was sit and smell the different pheromones of each Alpha. A strange situation to be in really but an easy one at that.

He thought it was a peculiar test, yet he knew the importance of finding a mate that had a pleasant scent. Their scents had to be compatible and this was the only way to test it out effectively. His Mother thought this Trial was very important and she wasn't going to let him forget that.

"Izuku, please take a seat over there," Queen Inko pointed to a cushioned seat as the Omega and Beta entered the Hall. "The first Alpha will be here shortly, you know what to do and what is expected of you."

The spacious room was divided in two by a large emerald curtain. Izuku would not be able to see the Alphas, he would only be able to smell them, and vice versa. He was the first to arrive and get comfortable in his chair. He would be sitting there for a while, so he had better get comfortable. His Mother believed that by not being able to see the Alphas, Izuku wouldn't be able to make any decisions too early.

"Yes, Mother. I understand and won't let you down." A sigh escaped the small Omega as he stepped further into the room.

The pressure at the Ball had been one thing, but this now felt like it had been taken up to a whole new level. This Trail should be simple, however, his Mother had high standards and he knew that he couldn't let her down. His reluctance to find a mate was becoming weaker now that he had actually met some of the Alphas, though they still had to live up to his expectations. He had made it clear to his Mother many times how he wanted to be more than a stay at home Omega. His desire to travel and see the world was something that his future Alpha had to share with him.

"Good. Uraraka, you need to stand over there. Izuku needs to be alone for this one," Queen Inko gestured for the brown haired Beta to stand with the rest of the servants and soldiers around the edge of the hall.

Uraraka gave her friend a small smile and followed the Queen's orders. She took her place next to Iida, she wanted to reach out to him but she knew that with the royal family present he would remain as professional as ever. Izuku smiled back but it never reached his eyes. Today was going to be long and exhausting for everyone involved, especially the young Prince.

The order of the Alphas would be different from the Ball, that way Izuku couldn't predict who he was scenting. He had smelt the blond and two toned Alpha at the ball, and had enjoyed their pheromones, he just hoped that he would be able to pick them out blind. If they weren't on his short list he would have to take matters into his own hands.

Prince Izuku looked around his half of the room, soldiers and servants lined the wall and they already looked bored. He really hoped that this wasn't going to take all day, there was a considerable pile of books in his corner of the library that he was eager to get back to.

He sat up straight as he heard the door opening.

"Good morning, Your Highness." Izuku could hear his Mother's voice on the other side of the curtain as she addressed what Izuku assumed was an Alpha. "Please take a seat, and once you are comfortable emit your scent." There was no response from the Alpha but that was to be expected, though the quiet was unnerving to the Omega. Who could it be sitting on the other side of the green curtain?
