"Who is this beautiful lady beside you, mare?" biglang tanong nung tumawag kay Mama.
"Well this is my beautiful and beloved daughter-in-law, Ally."
My eyes widened as i looked at Mama beside me. Nararamdaman ko tuloy na uminit ang pisngi ko dahil sa pagpapakilala ni Mama sa akin sa kaibigan niya.
"Oh? So it's really true that Zion is already married," parang may panghihinayang sa boses nito.
Kumunot tuloy ang noo ko at tinignan ito.
"Kaya nga eh. May ipapakilala pa naman kami sa'yo, Fiona," biglang sabat nung isang babaeng may iilan ng wrinkles sa mukha nito.
Ano bang problema nitong manang na 'to? I think hindi ito kaibigan ni Mama or even the woman who first greeted us when we entered this salon.
"Yeah. My son hid his wife deeply as he doesn't want any bugs attracting his property. Kung hindi ako umuwi sa pinas hindi niyo makikita ang maganda kong daughter-in-law," ani Mama.
Gusto ko tuloy tumawa dahil sa sinabi ni Mama.
Ngumiti ng peke ang dalawang babae at tinitigan ako mula ulo hanggang paa kaya taas noo ko silang tinignan.
"Where did your son get your daughter-in-law, Fiona? She doesn't look like a wealthy woman," pabulong na sambit nung unang bumati sa amin.
"As long as my son loves someone, we, as the parents have to support them," seryosong sambit ni Mama nito.
Mama still has her arms linked to my arms as she pulls me forward a little.
"Paano naman kung mali ang pinili nito? Look at Caleen's son! He choosed the wrong girl, now what happened? Gumawa ito ng paraan para hindi na magkaapo si Caleen!"
This woman is really getting on my nerves.
"May kasabihan nga po na hindi po 'ata gagawa ng kasamaan ang babae ng ganyan ka sama kung walang ginawang mali ang asawa nito," nakangiting sabi ko nito.
I saw how her eyes widened and the people around the salon. Tumingin ako sa harap at nakita ko si Lily na madilim ang mukha nito as she's staring at me very deeply.
Parang may kung masama itong iniisip on how to bury me alive. But am i scared? No! Pinalaki ako ng mga magulang ko na hindi matakot. I have to stand for myself with this.
Nag-iba na ang plot ng online story na nabasa ko. That means those original characters also have character development because of my involvement.
"I won't worry about my son's choice though as he always chooses the best," rinig kong sambit ni Mama at hinila ako papunta sa isang pintuan na may nakalagay na private room.
"Seriously those worms are getting on my nerves! If only I could make my husband disappear their family business! He is so useless!" nanggalaiting sambit ni Mama at padabog na umupo sa couch.
I look around the room at hindi naman ito masyadong malaki pero kompleto lahat ang mga gamit dito pang salon.
There's also a small lounge for guests where Mama sat in one of the couches and in front of her is a small table.
I sat down in one of the single couches as i put my bag in front of me beside the bottled water na hindi ko alam kung kailan nakalagay.
Pero from the looks of those small wet on the table, bago pa lang ito nilagay sa mesa.
"Ano na naman ba ang nangyari sa labas ng shop ko kung maka-react ka ng ganyan, Fiona?" biglang sambit ni..
Lumingon ako kung saan nanggaling ang boses na iyon at nanlaki ang mata ko dahil sa nakita.
Bakit magkaparehas sila ng mukha nung bumati sa amin pagpasok rito? Are they twins?
Pumasok galing sa kabilang pintuan ang babaeng maganda naman although her face is distracting me dahil naalala ko yung babaeng yumakap kay Mama kanina. They have the same face except for their eyes.
"Kasi ba naman yung kapatid mong makapal ang mukha kung makayakap sa akin akala mo close na close talaga kami, tsk!" reklamo ni Mama nito.
Mahina akong napasinghap. I can't believe i saw how many attitudes my mother-in-law had today! She acts like a cold, cute and fierce beast.
"Why did you even hug her back if you don't like my dear sister, Fiona?" Parang natatawa na ito as she walks towards Mama on the sofa.
"I'm just being casual as some rich wives are watching me."
Yung ibang mayayaman talaga. Maraming plastic. Ang sarap i-recycle except ni Mama.
The woman turned around and looked at me intently as her eyes widened in shock. Kinalibutan tuloy ako sa reaksyon niya ng makita ako.
"You didn't tell me that your daughter-in-law is so beautiful, Fiona!" asik nito.
"Seriously, Jessie! That just means my son had a good eye."
"I agree with you!"
Hindi ako umimik at tanging sila lang ni Mama ang nag-uusap tungkol sa nangyari kanina.
"By the way, what is that Lily doing inside your shop, Jessie?"
Mahina akong umubo at tumingin sa salamin na nasa gilid ng room.
"Even though you don't like the lady, i have business, Madam Cartridge," natatawang sambit ni Jessie daw.
She doesn't look like Mama's age because of how she dress pero i know she's just the same age as Mama.
"You're gonna betray me with your business?" parang nagtatampo ang boses ni Mama but i can tell she's joking.
"No way. I can get easy money from that lady, Fiona. Besides, i know she had a liking for your son," based from Jessie's voice, she enjoyed it very much.
"That girl? Psh. Zion is even cold to me, his dear mother," ani Mama.
Napatango ako dahil totoo naman qng sinabi ni Mama.
I took the bottled water on the table in front of me and unscrew it as i drank some.
"Unlike his wife. He can't even scold her," biglang sambit ni Mama kaya napabuga tuloy ako.
I heard Jessie laughing loudly at us as she patted the table in front of us, many times.
"I like this girl, Fiona! Hahahaha," natatawang sambit nito.
All they did inside this private room is catching up gossip within the wealthy circle and entertainment figures. Nagtataka tuloy ako kung bakit naging retired general ang Mama ni Zion.
Paglabas namin sa private room ay nawala na yung mga customers nila pero nandito pa rin si Lily.
We are almost at the double door when someone called us. And i mean someone. Si Lily lang naman.
"Mrs. Cartridge!"
I roll my eyes when she is staring at me saka lumapit kay Mama.
"Who are you referring to?" biglang tanong ni Mama kaya tumawa ako ng mahina.
"U-Uhm..," Lily looks so embarrassed.
"As you see, dalawa kaming Mrs. Cartridge dito," nakangiting sabi ko nito.
Her face looks so pale. Napatingin tuloy ang ilang mga natirang customers sa kaniya.
"Don't talk to me though if you're referring to me, young lady," Mama seryosong sambit ni Mama.
Parang gusto ng umiyak ni Lily. Napailing-iling tuloy ako.
"Do you know why? It's because i don't like you," ani Mama at naunang lumabas sa salon.
I stare at Lily at sumunod kay Mama without giving her a provocative smile.
