Yuka:
The next morning we set off once again to the castle. The closer we got the more anxious I became and the silence became more awkward.
Ryo stared ahead, her eyes no longer looked at me like they had. They were cold once more and emotionless.
I sighed, my breath coming out in warm clouds in the crisp air of the mountains.
My voice caught in my throat as the gates became visible. No. I'm not ready.
I went to reach for Ryo but I realized she had stopped walking with me. She looked at me with pain filled eyes. "This is where we depart." Her voice came out uneven and caught at the end.
"W-why?" I asked. My eyes searched hers. "I do not have a good past here." She answered.
I glanced at the gates and she grabbed my chin, turning me to face her. She pressed her lips on mine and I tasted salt. I looked up to see that she was crying.
My brave, strong Ryo, was crying.
"I'm sorry, Yuka. I hope you have a good life here. Or at least better then mine." She smiled sadly and wrapped me in a tight hug before kissing me again and walking away.
I stood there in the snow, dazed by what had happened. "Miss, are you alright?" I jumped when a guard came up to me on a horse.
"Y-yes. I am Princess Yuka. Will you kindly lead me to the Queen?" I climbed onto the horse behind him and quietly thanked my professor in my head for teaching me that they had no King because he had died.
Ryo:
Once I was out of Yuka's sight I fell to my knees. The dams keeping most of the tears at bay broke and they came pouring out. My mouth could no longer take the silence and screamed with my heart.
Screw you Raido!!!
Yuka:
I glided into the Queen's throne as gracefully as I could muster in my commoners clothing.
I felt extremely intimidated in the Queen's presence, especially since she was dressed like royalty and I was not. But the clothes still smelled like Ryo, so I was comforted.
Ryo...
My heart twisted painfully and brought me back to the presence in time to hear the Queen speak.
"You are Princess Yuka?" She spoke doubtfully and her voice was just as menacing as her looks.
The Queen was a tall, battle-hardened woman. Her blonde hair was cut short, much like Ryo's and her eyes were a cold blue like hers as well. Her body was tall and lean, yet muscular and sturdy at the same time. She wore a beautiful blue gown, but with shoulder plates and gauntlets.
She's a lot like Ryo...
I shook the thought from my mind. I must miss her so much already that I'm seeing her everywhere.
"I am Princess Yuka. Daughter of King Tashimora and Queen Tsubaki, and heir to the kingdom of Fiore." I bowed before her, deciding it would be foolish to curtsy without a skirt.
The Queen eyed me coldly before waving her hand dismissively at me. "Take her to the room I have provided. Be sure she is ready for dinner in a hour."
Then I was pushed out of the room and led through the long hallways toward my room. When we finally arrived I was surprised to see a man standing there. He looked around Ryo's age with her eyes, but blonde age like the Queen.
"You must be Yuka. I am Suon. It's nice to meet you!" He grinned and held out his hand. I shook it and he laughed. "I'm Raido's big brother!" He looked so proud of himself.
He ushered me into the room and closed the door behind us before his happy face melted into an anxious one.
"I must ask you, have you met anyone named Ryoday?" I shook my head and he continued. "She may have changed her name, something shorter. Like uh... Oh her nickname! Have you met anyone named Ryo?"
I nodded slowly, eyeing him warily. "How do you know Ryo and why do you want to know anyway?"
He smiled at me. "She's my twin."
R-Ryo's twin?!?
