Yuka:
I returned to castle after Ryo left. I was feeling very proud of myself about the kiss I had given her and almost didn't notice Suon leaving the Healer's room.
"Suon!" I called to him as I picked up my skirts and began rushing toward him.
He looked up in surprise and smiled when he saw me, but it was gone in a second since he began coughing again.
I slowed down and looked at him worriedly as I approached. "Suon?"
He waved a hand at me, signaling to me that it was nothing to worry about.
"Like hell it isn't!" I exclaimed as I saw red covering the hand he had used to cover his mouth.
I took his hand and wiped away the blood with the cloth I had grabbed earlier.
It had been meant for when I was training with Ryo, I was going to use to wipe away the sweat.
He pulled his hand away once I was done and I looked up at him in worry.
"Suon, tell me the truth." I ordered him softly. I placed my hand on his cheek and tears welled up in his eyes.
"Y-Yuka, I-I'm dying." He sobbed.
My heart stopped and fear filled my entire being. "Oh no." I murmured. I wrapped him up in a hug and rocked him as he cried into the crook of my neck, coughs occasionally wracking his body.
I finally pulled away after a few minutes and brushed the blood of my neck and inspected my shoulder. It had blood stains on it from when Suon was coughing.
"P-please don't tell Ryo..." Suon begged me, sniffling.
I nodded and gave him a small smile. I patted his shoulder before walking toward my room.
I need to change my clothes before Ryo gets back.
I began to rush toward my room in a panic as I realized how long I had been with Suon and that Ryo would be back any moment.
I threw my door shut begin me and hurriedly changed into a simple light blue dress that had a belt buckled around the waist.
I jumped visibly as I heard my door open and turned to see a nervous Ryo standing in the doorway.
I smiled at her and she smiled back but it was full of worry.
"Ryo...? What did you do?" I groaned in exasperation, rubbing my temple.
"It's okay Toby, you can come in now." Ryo called as she entered the room.
I looked up in shock as a little boy walked in behind her and hid behind her leg.
I gasped and fell back against my dresser. There was no doubt about who this child belonged to. The resemblance was uncanny.
"Ryo...why did you bring Rose's child here?" I asked her warily as I approached slowly.
"Well...with Rose gone...he has no one else. I thought...he could possibly...stay with us...?" Ryo asked hopefully.
The expression on her face was just so darn cute and the kid was so scared, I couldn't help it. I gave in.
"Alright then. It's time for dinner so we better go." I looked at the child around Ryo's legs. "Would you like to come with us and go get some dinner?"
He looked up at Ryo for permission before nodding at me. I smiled and held out my hand to him.
He hesitantly took and grinned up at me. I couldn't help but grin back as I led him to the dining room.
Ryo:
I watched them from a distance as try walked toward the dining room.
I couldn't help but smile at the warm feeling in my chest.
I held hand up to my chest and felt a confused look cross onto my face.
What...what is this feeling? I've only ever felt this toward Yuka...
I looked back up at them and smirked.
I guess my family just grew. From one to two. Now to three and soon to be four.
Maybe if I'm lucky it will be five.
I chuckled to myself causing Yuka to look over her shoulder and give me a weird look.
I shook my head free of the thoughts and hurried to catch up with them.
Yuka:
Even in the warm and fuzzy atmosphere of being with Ryo and Toby, dread still filled my heart.
I glanced at Suon across the table and frowned, although I quickly replaced it with another smile before anyone could see it.
Should I tell Ryo...? No. I promised Suon I wouldn't.
I brushed the thought out of my head and gave into the contagious happiness that surrounded me.
