I lashed out at Yuka, but still keeping my sword away from her stomach. She had her sword out while I was using a practice sword that a soldier had given me.

She easily parried my blows and dodged my attacks, she actually managed to strike me, drawing blood on my arm.

She had tried to stop the match to help me but I wouldn't let her.

In the end I had given up, allowing her to beat me easily.

"You have gotten much better." I praised her as I returned the wooden sword and she sheathed her sword.

She smiled brightly at me before taking my arm lightly and inspecting it. She nodded to herself and ripped off the end of her tunic, tying it around my arm to stop to the bleeding.

Satisfied with her work and gave me a quick kiss that me inwardly tremble with pleasure and yearn for more.

She walked away to go who knows where and me being my overprotective self, followed her.

She went to the stables and got her horse ready, turning to me with a sad yet happy smile.

"I'm not gonna be able to ride for long, so let's get as much done as we can." With that I mounted Shade and she mounted Cloud.

The white mare nickered softly and Shade whinnied in response.

Shade pawed the earth impatiently and I lightly tapped his side to get him moving. We started out at a walking pace, until we were out of the castle. Once the cool air hit our faces, we started to run.

Faster and faster.

I was surprised that Cloud could keep up with Shade since Shade was bred to handle this. He was a warhorse after all.

By the looks of it, Cloud had been bred for speed since her endurance wasn't the greatest. She slowly fell behind until I stopped Shade and turned him around to head back.

Yuka had dismounted and was standing by Cloud's head, talking to her quietly and stroking her snout.

"Yuka, you go on back to the castle. I'm going to go on by myself. There's something I'd like to do." I told her.

She eyed me curiously but nodded and remounted Cloud. She walked Cloud over beside Shade so she could lean over to kiss me.

I tried to deepen the kiss but being the tease she was, Yuka pulled away with a sly grin before galloping off.

"Damn woman." I grumbled to myself with a smirk.

I shook my head and put on my cold facade before tapping Shade with my heel to get him moving again.

We galloped most of the way before slowing down as we neared an old cabin.

I climbed off Shade and left him, knowing that he would stay nearby before walking slowly toward the cabin.

A lone soldier stood outside of the cabin with a fearful and anxious look on his face.

He jerked his head up as he noticed me coming and his look turned into one of relief.

"It's inside." He told me.

I nodded to him in acknowledgment and opened the door.

Inside the cabin sat a little boy, around the age of two. His vibrant red hair was tousled and his large green eyes were full of tears and fear.

"Where's mama?" He asked me, his voice cracking.

I turned back to the guard. I could feel my face visibly paling and a turmoil of emotions raged in my chest, making it hard to determine what exactly I was feeling.

"So...It's true..." I muttered.

I glanced back at the boy who was staring at me with confusion and fear.

I shook my head and leaned against the wall, thoughts running through my head.

"This is Rose's child..." I murmured.

"Ma'am? What would you like to do with the child?" The soldier asked me.

I shook my head and placed it in my hands.

I can't have a breakdown here. I'm going to be Queen soon. I can't afford to show weakness now. I need to come up with some plan...something!

I raised my head slowly and pushed myself off of the wall.

"We can't leave the child here. We'll have to bring him with us. He can stay with my wife and I until we decide on what we will do." I said to him.

I walked into the cabin and crouched in front of the scared child.

"Hey, little guy." I murmured softly to him. "You're gonna have to come with me, okay?"

He looked up me with large eyes full of trust. He nodded slowly and opened his arms up.

I picked him up and moved him around until I had him resting comfortably on my hip.

"What's your name, little guy?" I asked him, I didn't expect an answer really, but then again, this is Rose's child.

He is the Second Sorcerer.

"T-Tobias." He answered softly.

"Alright then, can I call you Toby?" I asked him. He nodded and leaned against me.

It didn't take long before I felt his breathing change.

He's asleep.

I carefully got onto Shade, making sure to not wake up Toby and had Shade move at a slow pace.

I hope Yuka won't get mad...
