Ryo:

I fell back into the snow. My past racing behind my eyes. The reason I had to leave Yuka there...

~Flashback~

"I'm sorry, your Majesty. But the King has passed away. " My mother fell to her knees. Her hands clutched her heart as if to keep it from falling apart.

I tugged on her sleeve, tears brimming my eyes. "Mother, what does he mean? Is Father not coming home?"

Suon stood behind me protectively, but his own eyes were shedding tears. Raido clung to my mother, staring at her with wide eyes.

"Your father will not be coming home, children. He is gone." She looked up at the sky, her eyes shedding tears in rivers.

I wrapped my arms around her neck and clung to her, sobbing along with her. Suon had to tear me off of her and pull my into his arms.

My mother stood up straight, tears falling down her face. Her long blonde hair fluttered in the wind and her warm blue eyes were determined.

"I am the Queen of our beloved kingdom. I am the mother of our kingdom's heirs. I am the protector of my people's future." She spoke loudly with pride, and the people looked up at her in awe as she spoke.

"I will keep our kingdom safe our people happy in the place of my late husband."

"Mother, I can't do it." I whimpered as she held the sword above my head.

"Again." She ordered.

I stood shakily and picked up my own sword. I held it out before me and my mother immediately attacked. She struck low, cutting my thigh open.

I cried out and fell to my knees. Blood poured from previous wounds and my eyesight was becoming blurred.

"Again." My mothers voice boomed throughout the small training room.

I stood shakily again and ground my teeth together to keep from screaming out in pain. I raised my sword and she struck again, this time catching me in the shoulder.

I cried out and clutched my shoulder but stood strong and lashed out with my sword. My mother easily deflected it and lashed out, slicing open my chest.

I fell to the ground, blood pooling all around me.

"Ryoday, you are weak. If you are to rule you must be strong. You cannot allow people to take advantage go you. You cannot allow your heart to be taken by someone else. Your heart has already been given to your people." My mother waved over the healer before leaving.

I laughed happily with Suon and Raido as we played in the snow. Mother watched from the balcony and there were some guards watching us as well.

But then a horn sounded in the distance and my mother fled with the guards to investigate.

The moment they were gone, Raido lunged forward and tried to stab me with a blade that flashed into his hand.

I grabbed his wrist but was unable to dodge the second blade that penetrated my stomach.

I grunted and looked at Raido with a betrayed look on my face. "Why, Raido? Why?"

He shook his blonde head, blue eyes looking at me with disgust. "Don't you see, Ryoday? You're next in line to the throne. The throne I want. Suon's been sick since he was born, and too weak to rule." He gestured lazily to Suon with his knife while Suon watched him with large, terrified eyes.

"Either I will kill you know, or you can flee to Fiore and never return." He glared at me as I processed what was happening my mind. I could feel the blood pouring down my stomach and onto the snow.

If I don't do something, I'll bleed out before long.

I grunted and reluctantly stood. I kissed Suon's forehead and fled to Fiore, crossing the border easily and fading away into my brothers past.

~End of Flashback~

I punched the ground and growled.

"If only I hadn't been too weak to stand up to him!"

I turned to look at the castle and stood. I need to see Yuka.

I'm going home.

Yuka:

"Ryo's your sister?" I stared dumbfounded at Suon. He coughed into his fist before nodded excitedly.

"Yes. She left a few years ago after an...incident." His eyes clouded at the unhappy thought.

"How do you know Ryoday?" He asked.

I blushed and pushed away the thoughts of Ryo kissing me before I answered him.

"She was my bodyguard." I said smoothly.

"Only your bodyguard?" He raised an eyebrow at me. "I happen to know her preference. It made our mother a lot stricter on her."

"Yes, Ryo was more than a bodyguard to me..." I looked past Suon and out the window, wondering where Ryo was and how she was doing.
