Chapter 30

Yuka:

I was sick again the next morning. And as I was puking my guts out, I found myself wishing I had never been raped. And not for the first time either.

But I shook the thoughts from my head, because if it hadn't been for that, I wouldn't be having a child.

I had always dreamed of having a child of my own, and when I married Yuka, I gave up on that dream.

But now I'm pregnant.

I sighed and stood shakily, the yucky taste lingering in my mouth.

Ryo was gone. The Council had taken her away from me for a stupid several hours long meeting.

They might as well make us the Queens already.

I jumped as the door opened and was surprised to see Raido standing there.

"I heard what happened. You okay?" He asked.

I nodded and started to make my way to the bed but half way there i started to feel sick again and had to run back.

Raido stood in the bathroom doorway, his eyes averted from the gross scene.

"I probably look disgusting." I muttered to myself.

"You look amazing, given the circumstances." Raido replied.

"I hope so." I laughed weakly and stood slowly. I leaned against Raido for a moment before walking and actually reaching the bed this time.

I collapsed against it, a long sigh escaping my lungs.

"Will Ryo be done soon?" I asked him, my face still buried in the bed.

"Well, I'm not sure. The last time I was in there they were discussing the councils decision on who is to become the rulers of the kingdom." He answered me. By the sounds of it he had moved closer and was sitting at the desk now.

"And?" I prodded him.

He sighed. "And I don't know. They kicked me out. They've been doing that ever since I accidentally caught Lord Dawson's robes on fire."

I giggled, the nausea slowly going away. "I wonder why. "

He laughed as well and we lapsed into silence.

Then Suon came in.

"Is my room the common room now? If so I think I should've been told." I complained.

"Sorry, Yuka. I just came to see how you're doing." Suon apologized to me.

"I'm sorry, Suon. I am so sorry I snapped at you!" Suddenly I was bawling my eyes out.

Then I got angry at myself for crying in front of them.

Then I felt guilty for not being able to cry in front of them.

Then I was crying all over again.

Suddenly the door slammed open and Ryo's growl filled the room. "Which one of you made her cry?"

Suon and Raido both yelped and I sat up in bed to see them struggle to explain what happened.

"I-it wasn't me! I-I swear!"

"N-nor me!"

"She just s-started crying for n-no reason!"

"Y-yeah! W-what he said!"

I giggled a little, then some more, until I was full out laughing as hard as I possibly could.

By the time I was done, tears were pouring out my eyes and my stomach was killing me.

Ryo, Suon and Raido were all staring at me with odd expressions and I sobered up. "What?" I asked seriously.

Ryo cracked a smirk, Suon coughed and Raido chuckled.

"Well, my dear, Yuka, guess what?" Ryo said to me as she walked toward the bed.

"What?" I giggled nervously.

"In three weeks time a coronation will be held to appoint us as Queens of our kingdom." She smiled widely at that and I couldn't help but smile back, it was contagious!

"Congratulations!" I said to her.

She shook her head, smiling. "Yuka, their making us both Queens."

"Oh yeah." I giggled a bit and threw myself in Ryo's open arms. I felt so happy. So complete in her arms where I belonged.

Suon coughed, it sounded ragged and painful. "Suon?" I asked, looking around Ryo.

"I'm fine." He gave us a small smile.

"I'm going to my chambers. I'll see you guys at supper." With that Suon left.

I frowned and pulled on Ryo's collar, pouting. "Will he be okay?"

"I'm sure he's fine." She smiled at me but I could see that it was a fake. I smiled back, deciding not to press.

Raido stood and sighed. "I'm gonna go. I have to meet with someone." With that Suon left.

"Someone?" I repeated.

Ryo chuckled. "His girlfriend. I followed him yesterday."

I grinned. "So, what do you wanna do today?" I asked her.

"How about we go spare in the garden?" She smiled.

I wasn't very happy with the idea but Ryo seemed excited so I went along with it.

"Alrighty, let's go then!" I said to her, pulling her along with me.
