Ryo:

I groaned and reached out to touch Yuka but found nothing but air. I felt around the bed a few times before opening my eyes and panicking.

I got up and threw on my blue General uniform. Running out of the room, I raced down the hallway.

Maids and servants gave me confused looks but said nothing. I turned a corner and slammed into something, causing me to fall backwards.

I looked up to see Dreyar offering me a hand. "Thanks." I muttered while allowing him to help me up.

"Are you looking for Yuka?" He asked.

"Yes." I looked at him hopefully.

"She's at the gardens." He chuckled and I gave him a confused look.

"She pretty mortified about last night since she wasn't the quietest and almost everyone heard you two." He chuckle again and I smacked him on the head.

"Idiot!" I scolded before running toward the gardens, a hint of a blush on my cheeks.

I found her standing next to what looked like an empty fountain. She was staring at it with a distant look on her face, not noticing that I was creeping up on her.

I grabbed her waist and whispered, 'boo', into her ear. She gasped and turned around.

"Ryo! I told you not to do that!" She scolded. I chuckled at her pouty face. "I know but you look so cute when I do." I kissed her softly before my expression turned serious again.

"Do you still want to see your father?" I asked. She frowned but nodded. "Well alright then, go get your stuff packed." I ordered, gently pushing her in the direction of her room.

"What? Now?" She objected and I gave her a small amused smile.

"If you don't leave now, I'm afraid you'll never leave because I will not let you." I said simply.

She turned with a confused expression and heads to her room. "How naive is she?" I asked myself.

Yuka:

I'm going home.

I grabbed a dark blue dress and a light green dress before putting them in a bag.

I'm going home.

I looked up as a knock sounded on the door and allowed Dreyar and Suon in. Suon sat on my bed while Dreyar casually leaned against the wall. I looked at him in surprise as I realized he wasn't in uniform.

"Today's my day off." He explained. "I'm also going with you to see your father, Ryo's orders."

I frowned and nodded, finishing my packing. Suon grabbed my hand. "You're leaving?" He asked.

"I'm going home." I told him. Saying it out loud caused to me to smile and tears to come to my eyes.

Suon smiled and stood. "I'll go get Ryo and Raido. We'll see you off." He then left. Leaving Dreyar and I alone.

"She told you to come with me?" I asked. I knew my tone was angry and dangerous, but I didn't care.

"Yes, milady." Dreyar answered. Normally he would've called me Lady Yuka or Yuka, but he must've sensed my dark mood and deemed it necessary to call me by my title.

"Why couldn't she come with me? I wanted her to. I still haven't told my father about our engagement..." I trailed off and then smiled sadly at Dreyar.

"Lets go. I want to leave before I change my mind and stay." I handed him my bags and allowed him to lead me to the gates of the castle.

Two horses waited for us with Raido, Suon, and Ryo. Ryo handed me the reins of a majestic black stallion. "This is Shade, my horse. I have missed him a lot since I was gone. When you come back, I want you to brig your own horse with you. We'll go riding together." She kissed me and wrapped me up in her arms.

"I have to stay. I'm sorry. I can't trust the council and Raido isn't suited to rule in our stead." She whispered apologetically in my ear with a sad smile before pulling away.

Raido smiled at me and gave me a hug. Suon also gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek, which made Ryo hit him in the back of the head.

Dreyar helped me onto Shade before he was pulled away by Ryo.

Ryo:

"Protect her like your life is on the line, which in fact it is. If she dies, I will personally murder you." I whispered threateningly at him before allowing him to climb on his brown appaloosa mare.

Yuka waved happily at us, excitement written all over her face.

I felt my heart rip out of my chest as I watched her leave, and I let it go, because I knew it wouldn't leave Yuka's side.

Once they were out of sight I fell to my knees and cried. "Ryo? Ryo what's wrong?" Suon asked me worriedly.

"I fear she won't come back. That she will stay there forever." I sobbed. Suon hugged me and rubbed my back, trying and failing to comfort me.
