hey.
as i said last chapter
there still is the topic of heavy mental health burdens but these are coping mechanisms so please try and use them if you struggle
i'd give you a few of my coping mechanisms which you can use to try and help yourself and hopefully stop you from doing something stupid or just help calm you down
I LOVE YOU, OKAY? REMEMBER THAT.

1) panic attacks
when i have my panic attacks, i don't like people touching me. there are three states you can fall into. fight, flight, or freeze. when i'm in my freeze state, i feel very uneasy and uncomfortable when people try to touch me (hold hand, feel my face, etc.) even though they're just trying to help.
one way i calm down is DEEP BREATHS. it's always overlooked but PLEASE do not breathe like your just ran a marathon. in through your nose SLOWLY, out through your mouth SLOWLY.
i have this grounding method that gets me back in touch with the world; it's called 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
name 5 things you see (can be literally anything, floor, sky, the person looming over you)
4 things you can touch (this can be things you're holding, things you feel like the wind, or things you're wearing like rings or clothing)
3 things you hear (your breathing, music, birds, the wind)
2 things you smell (fresh air, a stuffy room, burnt toast)
1 thing you taste (this can even be your saliva)

2) depression
i don't really having a coping mechanism for something i feel but
take my advice (because i don't) and stop listening to sad/depressing music, this won't help.
you don't have to listen to upbeat shit but you can literally blast GUTS or Lover
hell. you can play Toad Sings. (it's terrible but hilarious.)
try and distract yourself, just don't endlessly scroll through your phone. read a book you've read before, watch something you've watched before, be with someone you're comfortable with
i find that baking cookies always helps somehow (it might be the smell or the chocolate)

3) s3lfh@rm
i avoid anything sharp
if i see scissors (for example) i pinch my eyes shut and just get it out of my sight.
if that doesn't help, tell someone you trust to hide anything that you can use to hurt yourself
i don't have any good coping mechanisms for this because i usually just give in
but sometimes
i just sleep on it
if my hands are aching to hurt myself, i go to bed right away. i can't hurt myself if i'm unconscious

4) su!c!dal thoughts
i don't really have anything for this either bc it's hard to block out thoughts
but if you're on the verge of attempting, just remember that people need you, people love you.
I love you and I need you.
surround yourself with people you trust that way they could prevent you from doing anything stupid

AND ABOVE ALL
REMEMBER TO BREATHE.
it's so important to breathe.
if your body is on edge and stressed out, take deep breaths. your brain works better when it's calmer.
I LOVE YOU ALL SO SO SO SO MUCH
