Tabitha woke up the next morning understanding exactly what would happen once the sun went down that night. There was, yet again, another event celebrating the founding. Tabitha knew, after the recent death of their leader, Pearl, the remainder of Tomb Vampires would be unlikely to resist such a gathering of founding family members. As soon as they begin their attack, the Gilbert device would be activated and all the vampires would be sedated and taken to an abandoned building, sealed inside, and killed all in one fell swoop.

Tabitha met with John and confirmed the plan with the Founder's Council and the Tomb Vampires. To ensure Tabitha kept her cover, she would be nowhere near the square tonight, claiming emotional damage because of Damon, again, Tabitha's post would be Miss Gibson's house, she would be there waiting in case any Tomb Vampires managed to escape the town square that night.

After texting Bonnie, Elena, and Matt that she wasn't feeling well, Tabitha loaded up her gear and as the sun began to set, began making her way to Miss Gibson's house. Halfway there, Tabitha came upon the Old Fell Church and stood above the empty tomb. She then set down her began and spoke up to whatever gos was listening, "To whoever is listening up there who decides the course of people's lives, please forgive me for betraying Damon and Stefan. Please forgive me for condemning all those vampires who were once human to slaughter. And please forgive me for the lives of the innocent that are taken in the crossfire tonight. Amen."

Tabitha then picked up her bag and finished her trek to the Gibson house. As she began placing traps at the main entrances, she texted John Gilbert, "I'm in position. Start the Hunt."

Tabitha finished setting up her traps and then sat down on the couch to wait for any stragglers. She got a reply message from John, "The fireworks will be your signal we've begun. and I'll text you when I've set fire after they're rounded up."

Tabitha opened the blinds and cracked one of the windows before sitting back down. She took a few calming breaths as the minutes ticked by and then she heard the booming in the distance and faint lights above the treeline. So she stood up shrugged the tension out of her shoulders and chugged a swig of vervain before mounting her stake gun onto her shoulder, "Ok, game on."

Suddenly a chuckle sounded behind her and Tabitha had just enough tie to aim before being knocked back and a familiar heel to press to neck. Katherine looked down at her, "Game on indeed. I'm happy my hunch about your position was correct. Out of the fight, but setting a trap for any stragglers."

Katherine then helped her up, "Don't worry, I came to help. The last place I need to be is in the town square and I need to ensure no tomb vamps are left alive."

Tabitha picked up her gun, "Fine, but just so you know. If I die once this is over, I have a contingency in place, which will screw you over."

"Aw, after all we've been through, you don't trust me?"

Tabitha smirked, shaking her head, "Absolutely not."

Katherine chuckled again, "You know, Isobel was right." Tabitha paused as Katherine looked her up and down, "Immortality will look wonderful on you. Let me know when you turn and we'll celebrate."

Tabitha sighed, "Not for a while yet. I'd rather finish puberty and be of legal drinking age before I turn; and even then, I need to make sure I have the conversation with my son to where he understands that no matter age I appear his mother loves him and she died to ensure his life and the continued protection of her bloodline." Tabitha then quickly changed the subject, "So, where's Mason?"

"He'll be along. Werewolves don't move as fast as vampires and I need to be seen in town a few days before him. If we arrive in town at the same time, Damon's bound to get suspicious and he needs to be thrown off the trail."

Tabitha eyed the vicious doppelgänger, not liking her tone, "What are you planning on doing to reveal yourself?"

"Oh, don't worry, I'll steer clear of Elena and your new roommate Matty, but I do plan on messing with my exes."

Suddenly the trap at the front door was tripped and the conversation was interrupted and replaced with adrenaline fueled fighting. Well, Katherine did most of the fighting, while Tabitha finished them off. She was honestly surprised that only four vampires escaped the slaughter. Tabitha went back inside hearing her phone. Matt's name lit up the CallerID, "Hey Matt, what's up?"

"We got in a car wreck, Caroline's fainted and Tyler and I are on our way to the hospital."

Tabitha looked over at Katherine who nodded before answering, "I'm on my way." Tabitha packed up her stuff, "You sure you'll be good, in case there are any more?"

Katherine smirked, "Please, I'm Katherine Pierce."

Tabitha nodded, walking past Katherine, calling over her shoulder, "After tonight, our deal will be over as all the tomb vamps will be dead. I thank you for making my home safe, but if you do something to jeopardize that peace, I will come for you."

Katherine burst over hovering over Tabitha in the doorway, "Oh yeah? What happens when I tell the Salvatores about our little deal?"

Tabitha shrugged, "Do it. After all you've done to them, who's story do you think they'll believe?"

"Oh, but the seed of doubt will be planted."

Tabitha then took a few measured steps back before turning her back to her partner in crime, "I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Goodnight Katherine."

"Goodnight Tabitha."

Tabitha hiked to her car before speeding to the hospital and sat in the waiting room, waiting for any news on Caroline. Here she was, in the middle of chaos, as she always seemed to be, as the "tough-as-nails-Tabitha" everyone perceived her to be; and yet, she couldn't shake the foreboding feeling in her chest.
