It was finally Thanksgiving and time for me to bake the pumpkin and apple pies for this afternoon. I woke Clark up fairly early to help me buy materials at the grocery store before beginning the baking process. It was a ton of fun having Clark help me make and bake the pies. We had just popped both pies in the oven when the door rang and Clark yelled, "I got it!"

I yelled after him, "Try not to get flour on the door handle!"

I began the clean up process as Clark giggled and came back into the room with Matt carrying him on his shoulder, "Woah, what exploded in here?"

Clark smiled, "We made pies for tonight, Mr. Matt."

"You did? Can I have a bite?"

I brought out my mom voice, "Not yet, they have to bake first and then you have to wait until after you have some dinner."

"Yeah, dinner comes before dessert, Mr. Matt."

I smiled, "That's right Clark. Why don't you go take a bath and change into some clean clothes while I clean up?"

"Okay!" Matt lowered him to the ground and he took off, running up the stairs.

I continued to clean and Matt helped as I asked, "So, what brings you to my humble abode?"

"I just wanted to see you, it's pretty quiet at the Donovan house right now."

I touched his shoulder with my non-floury hand, "If you ever need to spend the night here, don't hesitate to let me know. My promise to you hasn't changed; I'm still here for you Matt."

"Thanks, Tabitha."

I smiled, "Well, come on, this kitchen isn't going to clean itself."

We had just finished cleaning the kitchen when Clark came running down the stairs, "I'm done!"

I chuckled, "Alright, you and Matt can play down here while I get cleaned up." Clark pulled Matt into the living room while I took a shower and changed into a dark maroon dress and beige jacket with matching heels. I also tied my hair up in a nice braided bun and put on make-up.

As a came walking down the stairs Clark called, "Wow! You look pretty mom!"

I blushed, seeing Matt's dumbfounded look as my grandparents, who were also ready to leave, smiled. Grammie came over to lift up my chin, "The boy is right, dear, you look stunning. Don't be afraid to strut your stuff."

I chuckled, "Thanks Grammie."

At that point Pappy grabbed Clark, "Come on stinker, you're riding with us. Matthew would you mind driving Tabitha?"

I held up my hands, "Oh you all can go before me, I still have to grab the pies and I wouldn't want anyone waiting on me."

"Nonsense, Matt's a gentleman. He can drive you."

"Pappy, you don't have to volunteer him."

Matt smiled, "It's okay, Tabs. I'll just go start the truck so the heater has time to heat up."

I sighed, watching them all walk outside. I grabbed the pies and walked out to Matt's truck. He was standing outside the passenger's side door, waiting to open it for me. "Thanks Matt."

"My pleasure, Tabitha."

"Hey, can we stop by the Boutique really quick?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I nearly forgot something."

When we arrived at the Lockwood Mansion as the party was just getting started. The Lockwoods had just opened the doors and were letting people inside. I could see Clark walk in with Grammie and Pappy up at the front and Mrs. Lockwood smiled as Matt and I reached the front, "Tabitha! Ah, the lady of the hour. Please go set the pies down and enjoy the party."
