I woke up to a sleeping Ellie and I kissed her on her forehead. She moaned as I kissed her neck and then her chest. My hands ran up my shirt that she wore. She moaned turning her head. I pulled the shirt up putting one of her breast in my mouth and putting my hand in her shorts. I brushed her panties which were wet already. She moaned as I rubbed on her. Her hips moved and I pulled her shorts down. She moaned as I put a finger inside of her and her eyes shot open. She looked down at me smiling lustily at me. Her legs widened and I added another finger inside her. Her hips bucked upward taking me in deeper.

I pulled her into me and she sighed. I know she suspects something, but I can't. I can't tell her. I don't want her worried about me. I don't want her to know what I'm about to do. About the hell I signed myself up for three years. I regret nothing but not being truthful with her.

After a while she fell back to sleep and I got up to shower. I got dressed in a black suit and grabbed my gun from underneath my nightstand. I looked at her once more and kissed her on her forehead before leaving the room entirely.

I went downstairs to see Cameron walking into the house.
"Early day?" He asked and I nodded

"I need to talk to you" I said to him and pointed at my office so Ellie won't hear us. He followed me into the office closing the door behind him and leaned against the bookshelf.

"I'm going to be gone more often to take care of some things. I asked you to stay away from Ellie but you're the only person that I trust with her sadly." I said

"Where are you going?" he asked

"That doesn't matter. I need you to promise me something. I wouldn't ask if I didn't need it. I need you to promise me that you will protect her. There's serious people who want to hurt her and I'm making it my duty to keep them from her, but that requires me to be elsewhere. I need to know she's safe. I can't do this if I don't know if shes okay" I said

He looked at me closely. He crossed his arms.
"What did you bargain Miles?" He asked

Cameron was too smart. He understood too quickly. I groaned.

"Nothing of importance when it comes to her safety." I said and he looked at me

"Why don't you tell her?" He asked

"Because she won't forgive me if I did. Because she knows nothing about this and I want to keep it that way. Damian Carter used to beat- harm her and I couldn't protect her from that. I can protect her from this. From my actions" I said looking at my desk

"You love her" He said and I looked up at him with my jaw clenched

"More than I thought it was possible to love someone which is why I have to do this. I can't lose her Cameron." I said

"Pushing her away. Keeping this from her. You could lose her from that too" He said

I nodded. "I know. But there are worse ways." I said and he looked at me

"I'll protect her. Even though she'll fight me at every angle. I'll protect her for you Miles. But I won't lie to her for you. I don't lie." Cameron said and I nodded

"I won't ask that of you and I expect nothing less than a fight from her. That's why I fell for her " I said "Thank you"

Cameron looked at me and nodded. I grabbed my gun from under my desk and put it in my waistband.

"Alphonso will be around to transport her everywhere so you don't have to worry about that. I'm just asking you to check in on her every once in a while. No parties. I don't want her near any of this." I said

Cameron rolled his eyes. "Right" He said turning to walk out the office. He stopped in his steps and looked at me. "Don't die, Miles. It'll kill her."

I looked up at him and nodded.
"I'll always come back to her." I said and he walked out the office

I grabbed my car keys and left out to get in my car. I drove off and couldn't help but think about her face, the way she fit so perfectly in my arms this morning. I knew I was doing the right thing, even if she'd hate me for it. I wouldn't let them touch her. I pushed the thought to the back of my head as I checked the time it was 8:52am. I pulled up to the mansion and parked. I closed my eyes pulling up the mask that Ellie removed multiple times. The mask that I never took off. I got out the car and the front doors opened and Micheal walked out.

"Eager for your first day huh?" He asked smirking

I had to play the part. Pretend it didn't bother me as much. Give him what he wanted. What I fought so hard to push away three years ago.

I smirked at him.
"Who's the unlucky bastard?" I asked and he laughed

I was the unlucky bastard.
