I made it to Giovanni's house and Angela was in the kitchen eating ice cream. Giovanni sat at the table staring at her. He wasn't hungry for ice cream from what I could tell.
"How many months left?" I asked and she looked up at me
"6 months" Giovanni said and I saw the pain in his eyes
I smirked grabbing a spoon out the drawer and sitting next to Angela. I took the pint of ice cream from her and took a scoop.
She rolled her eyes and Giovanni looked furious.
"Hello to you too Miles." She said smiling at me then snatching the ice cream back
"Gotta love Ben and Jerry's" I said "How's Miles Jr?"
That earned a grunt from Giovanni.
"A pain in the ass" Angela said "I just got a handle on the morning sickness thing. I couldn't eat for so long. Felt like I wouldn't be able to hold anything down."
"That sucks. Seems like Gio is a bit frustrated" I said noticing how he stared at her as she wrapped her lips around the spoon.
"All on his own accord. He believes that if we have sex it will hurt the baby. He's in daddy mode. Refuses to touch me." She said
Giovanni looked at me. "I'm not trying to take any chances. I want him to be healthy. I can wait...for it." He said
"So I have to as well?" She said to him raising her brow
"Your pussy came on my tongue and fingers three times this morning. You pushed me off you before the fourth." Giovanni said and Angela looked embarrassed
"Gio-"She said and I laughed
"She wants dick Gio. If you can't fuck her right, I'll-"I started just to get him riled up
"Finish that sentence and I'll kill you." He threatened as his eyes darkened and Angela laughed.
I put my hands up in surrender.
"Christian just arrived. Office now." Giovanni said to me standing up. He looked at Angela once more.
"Im gonna make you come on my dick until you cry tonight" he said to her before walking out the room and Angela's eyes widened with excitement.
She looked at me and mouthed "Thank you" before I smirked at her following him to the office.
I went into the office with him to see Christian sitting in the office.
"Miles. Long time." Christian said and I nodded
"I've been busy. What is this meeting?" I asked closing the door behind me
"Cameron has brought something to our attention" Giovanni said sitting at his office desk
My jaw clenched at the mention of the bastard.
"Not his biggest fan huh? I knew my cousin would get on your bad side by bringing Ellie to the lake house." Christian said
"He crossed the line. I almost killed him for it." I said and he nodded his head
"We all would have. Cameron told me that you were in some trouble. Want to expand ?" Giovanni asked
He never asked me about my past. I never spoke about my past other than with Ellie.
"Damian, Ellie's dead ex that I killed, was apparently an asset to Michael. He thought Ellie sent me as a hit on Damian and wanted to kill her. He was familiar with my...past. He wanted me to work for him to kill for him in exchange he'll leave Ellie alone. I made a deal with him for three years." I said
"Three years Miles?!" Giovanni yelled and I nodded
"You need to snuff him out Miles." Christian said
"Micheal is powerful. He's smart. He for sure has a contingency plan. When I act I need to make sure that all other plans are eliminated. If he hurts Ellie.." I shook my head to escape the thoughts
"You can't work for him Miles. Cameron said it's killing you." Giovanni said
"I'll live with it. What I can't have is Ellie being hurt" I said "Which is why I need to play it smart."
"Micheal is well connected" Christian said "but if he suspects anything he will act Miles."
"I don't think you understand. Ellie is the only thing important to me. I cannot lose her. I will not lose her" I said
"I get it" Giovanni said and Christian nodded
I shook my head. "But you don't. After that day I showed up on your doorstep covered in blood that wasn't mine, I was able to salvage a tiny piece of myself ever since. What I'm saying is if I lose her, what little that is left of my humanity will dissipate. And I'm asking you two as my friends. If on that devastatingly horrid chance that I do lose her, I need you to take me out."
Giovanni shook his head.
"There has to be another way"
"There won't be. She's the only reason why I can feel right now. I am in hell right now, but nothing matters as long as she's safe. You should be scared of what I can become if I lose that. I'm scared of what I will become if I lose her. So please. I need you to do it because everyone will bleed around me if you don't and I won't feel even one ounce of remorse for it all."I said
They nodded and my jaw clenched. Giovanni handed me a glass of scotch and I downed it.
"I asked her to marry me." I said and they looked at me in shock
"What?" Christian said smirking
I nodded.
"She said yes" I said and Giovanni smirked patting me on the shoulder
"Wow Congrats!" Christian said clicking his glass to mine
"When did you ask her?" Gio asked
"Yesterday" I said smiling "I can't believe she said yes"
"You'll never stop feeling that way." Christian said "I damn sure won't."
"Have you spoken to Cameron?" I asked him
He shook his head no. "He's been MIA. I tried to contact him. You didn't kill him right?" Christian asked and I rolled my eyes
"I should've but no I didn't. He has some feelings for Ellie of which she didn't return. Keep an eye on him and keep him from doing anything stupid. Ellie made her choice." I said and Christian nodded
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a very naked woman that I left in bed waiting for me." I said pouring another drink and downing that
They laughed as I started to walk out the room after setting my glass down.
"Miles." Giovanni said and I looked at him
"I fully intend to be your best man. Be careful huh."
I nodded at the man who was basically a brother to me.
"Definitely." I said and walked out the house
