That Wednesday the whole office was copied on an email from Arthur, one of the most senior members of the development team, to the CEO.
Arthur had been with the company for so long that he knew the CEO, Matt, personally. They had gone to university together. Arthur had been one of the first people Matt had hired when he started the company thirty years earlier. Matt had had aspirations. Arthur had just wanted to make cool things.
In the email, Arthur lambasted Matt about Collaborate Plus. He said that it was an affront to the workers. That it infringed on their privacy. That it prevented them from talking to whomever they wanted to talk to about whatever they wanted to talk about.
Arthur ended the email saying that he was only copying the office because Matt had failed to listen to him when he had spoken to him personally.
He said that he had contacted a lawyer, and that the lawyer said that he had a case to bring legal action against the company.
He ended the email by saying he was sorry that it had come to this.
