The moment that I stepped a foot in Tokyo I already felt enchanted by the beautiful streetlights towering over the little streets and the mass of people wandering around town.
I had an extreme jet lag because of the big travel I just took with my best friend Laure. " I cant believe that we're finally here!"
She squealed, her high pitched voice filled with pure excitement.
She was right.
We finally made it. It had been our biggest dream since we first met, to travel to Tokyo together. The city lights were shining onto our exposed skin as we exited the airport.
We've been strongly discussing the subject of moving in together and today we left our relatives behind to pursue our dreams in the big lit up city of Tokyo.
I never liked crowed places but Laure surely did.
She couldn't stop yapping about how amazing and fascinating the car races were in Tokyo. Apparently she read a lot of magazines about the famous car races that were hosted in the middle of Tokyo. Every night cars would gather at an deserted and empty street so that they could have exciting races and win tons of money.
Laure was into those things.
She hooked her arm into mine and we walked our ways to the side of the road trying to grab a taxi's attention. It was 1:00 but we were both exhausted from the long trip we just took.
Laure rested her heavy head onto my shoulder as we waited for a taxi to pull over. It felt like we had been standing there for hours until a taxi arrived. Laure grabbed her luggage and dragged herself into the car.
" how long is the drive?"
I murmured as I chucked myself into the backseat of the moist car. " about 30 minutes." Laure replied before buckling her seatbelt and laying her head against the glass window, probably already admiring the beauty of Tokyo.
The amount of lights that were visible was incredible. Fireworks got fired as we drove to our new appartment and many people were still walking around. Tokyo was full of life.
It felt like I was falling in love with it.
After a long ride the driver pulled over at the sidewalk and let us out.
I looked up to meet our new appartment.
Laure grasped for the keys and jiggled them with excitement. The sound of the fresh untouched keys echoed trough my ears. It was amazing. I gasped as Laure opened the large door that was blocking our way into the new appartment. It was a bit cold inside the hallway so I zipped my jacket further up trying to invite more warmth into my body. " let's get up." She laughed as she dragged her bagage onto the stairs.
We were both struggling and I nearly fell of the huge stairs trying to keep a hold of my suitcase. " gosh, this is heavy." I groaned in annoyance, my arms growing sore from the large suitcase they were dragging a long. " we're nearly there." Laure giggled as she threw her bagage upstairs.
We finally arrived at our level and walked trough the dim hall searching for our room.
" it's room 189."
I said whilst checking my phone to see if I was correct. " well, then we're here." Laure smiled at me as she excitingly pointed towards the large wooden door keeping us from entering the room. " open the door Laure!" I squealed in excitement, placing my suitcase onto the soft carpet.
Laure grabbed for her keys and jiggled them around in the air. The loud noise of the keys were sending me straight into a dream. It felt as if I was fulfilling my childhood's dream.
