I tried to make a very different chapter than normal with this one! I hope it doesn't seem too strange.
It had been two years since Morro left for good. (y/n) had begged Wu to watch over the Master of Wind, but all his father could do was say:
"It was Morro's decision to go alone... I can't watch over you both, (y/n)." But that didn't stop from (y/n) going to search on his own on multiple occasions. Yet, the other boy was nowhere to be found.
At first (y/n) didn't seem fazed. He thought about Morro's attitude, how mean and how violent he was against others. Morro was no angel after all.
But he wasn't like that towards (y/n), was he? Maybe that fact was the thing that (y/n) would cry over night after night for the first months after Morro's sudden departure.
(y/n) would also refuse to train with Wu's other students. And because of that, Wu even stopped training other students in the hopes of getting (y/n) back to training, although his efforts were in vain.
Even after that (y/n) was neglecting his training all together for a multitude of reasons, some of which being:
"I'm not the Green Ninja, so it doesn't matter what I do."
"I don't even want to be a ninja."
"I'll train when Morro comes back."
"You can't make me! You're not my real father!" Although it broke his heart, Wu never scolded (y/n) for his words or his behavior. He still asked him to train, and he kept asking until (y/n) finally, after a long time, agreed. Now (y/n) had turned sixteen. He had calmed down, resumed his training alone as the future Master of... nothing. He still hadn't unlocked any powers, and he doubted he ever would.
He woke up, did whatever he could to pass the time, ate, and went to sleep. It was simply pattern of only a few simple things, but (y/n) repeated it every day and every week.
All day he would try to show he was happy, but it turned out to be quite difficult. He wasn't necessarily a bad liar, or that he was having trouble hiding his emotions, he had just distanced himself from the only person he currently had in his life, and that made him suffer for it.
Wu tried to cheer him up every time (y/n) was feeling even a bit under the weather, but (y/n) never really payed attention to it. He'd rather stay by himself than pretend to be happy around Wu.
But late in the evening things were different. He could freely sigh and let out his emotions when Wu wasn't there to see it. He would lay in bed, muttering out how he really felt, what he wanted and what he didn't. What he had most enjoyed during the day and what he was looking for for tomorrow. Although usually it wasn't much, just more training and tasty food.
But it was on this peculiar night that (y/n) woke up, and in the middle of the night no less, to a strong and strangely familiar wind blowing in through his open window.
(y/n) could swear he had closed it, but now it was open, revealing the moon shining down from the sky above the monastery. For company the moon had the stars, and although they didn't shine as brightly, they were still the center of (y/n)'s attention.
Or rather, they would have been, if (y/n) was awake enough to actually concentrate on them. Instead (y/n) looked around in a sleepy daze, before flopping back onto his bed. That was until he heard the sound of a rock hitting the floor, and he quickly sat up again, this time a bit more awake.
After waiting a few seconds, he saw and heard as a few more small pebbles flew inside, all falling down onto the floor after passing through the open window.
(y/n) got up from his bed, quickly scrambling to change out of his pajama into his normal clothes, before walking over to the window just as another small rock flew, thankfully (y/n) dodged it swiftly before it could hit him.
(y/n) made sure not to step on any the sharp rocks on the floor as he finally glanced out the window, before he froze in shock.
Sharp eyes and dark brows highlighted by the a boy's angry expression as he stood there waiting, a pile of rocks in hand under the window. Although time had passed, (y/n) instantly recognized the boy from the streak of green in his hair. And not from just that, but his entire complexion.
"Morro!" (y/n)'s face lit up like a light as Morro scowled.
"Shut it! Get down here." Morro whisper-shouted before quietly putting the rocks back on the ground as (y/n) jumped onto the windowsill in excitement.
Without even stopping to think for a second, he jumped down straight towards Morro, not even caring enough to get his shoes.
Although the Wind elemental was taken by surprise, he still opened his arms hastily and caught (y/n) right in time. The boy smiled a smile brighter than the stars in the sky, but only Morro could see it. (y/n) couldn't stop himself from letting out a small laugh either as he stared at Morro's shocked face.
Realizing he was the one being laughed at, Morro hurried to let go of (y/n). But right as Morro set the boy down however, the ninja in training was already hugging the Elemental Master of Wind tightly.
"I'm so glad you came back! Wu and I've been worried sick." (y/n) spoke, minding his volume just as Morro had done. His attitude had changed a bit, he was a bit more confident in himself, and he was anything but careful as he talked to Morro. But he hadn't actually changed that much.
"Shh. I didn't come back." Morro stated as (y/n) tilted his head in confusion, right before Morro continued.
"I came to get you." The way he said it made (y/n) burn up, but the boy quickly shook it away.
"I can't leave f- Sensei. I'm in the middle of my training. I'm almost as strong as you are now too!" Morro's eyes sharpened, and he grasped (y/n)'s wrist and tugged on it as he turned to leave.
"Run back to Wu if you want, but I'm not staying here any longer." Even though he said that, Morro still kept dragging (y/n) along with him to the stone stairs leading down the Mountain of Impossible height. (y/n) kept glancing between Morro's hand and the monastery behind him, but didn't resist as Morro pulled him along.
Until a few steps later, (y/n) finally came to his senses and stopped as he pulled his hand back, making Morro pause as well.
"I-I... I really have to say goodbye to Sensei." (y/n) let out, but that only made Morro glare at him.
"You don't need to. Go back and I'll leave without you." Although Morro said that, he didn't plan on leaving without (y/n). (y/n) hesitated, and glanced back towards the monastery again. He needed to go with Morro. He wanted to make sure the Elemental master of wind didn't get in trouble, or something worse than that.
"Alright." (y/n) gave up the idea of telling Wu of Morro's return, and instead followed as Morro continued walking down the mountain.
