The ninja and Garmadon were all on edge. The place was filled with cultists under Chen's rule. Even the seemingly innocent Kabuki seemed to glare at them when they weren't looking.

And Lloyd was sure someone else glared daggers into his back while he wasn't looking. And every time Lloyd turned around to check, there was only a boy with half his face covered by a folding fan.

(y/n) didn't like him, and Lloyd had no idea why. But all he could do about it was try to ignore the small remarks and the times (y/n) would 'accidentally' step on his foot when the others weren't looking.

Lloyd was anything but happy that he had to sit next to (y/n) in the large hall, where the Elemental Masters were all waiting to meet this 'Master Chen', who had organised this tournament for them.

Speaking of the tournament, Lloyd couldn't forget about why they were here in the first place. Zane. Zane must be somewhere on the island, but Lloyd didn't even have the smallest clue where.

And once again, speaking of the Tournament of Elements, for Elemental Masters... Why was (y/n), who was not an Elemental Masters, even allowed here?! The other ninja didn't seem to find it suspicious at all. Lloyd begged to differ.

Lloyd had already mentioned it to his father, but all Sensei Garmadon said was to: "Concentrate on the more important matters first."

"All rise for Master Chen." As Clouse called out, everyone obediently stood up. But everyone did not include (y/n), who didn't move from where he was sitting, slowly fanning himself with his folding fan.

Soon enough Chen revealed himself, or rather, lowered himself down along with his throne. Lloyd wasn't sure what he had expected, but this sure wasn't it.

"Welcome to the Tournament of Elements! Now everyone can all die-!" But for a moment Lloyd was taken back, as Chen shouted and the doors to the hall slammed shut, but then his tone changed.

"-rect your attention to me! Ahahaha!" Chen laughed like a child as Garmadon leaned over and whispered to Lloyd:

"I forgot to mention, he has a penchant for theatrics." The two, along with the rest of the fighters that had previously stood up, all sat down.

"Never before have so many Elemental Fighters been under one roof! I see Master of Fire, Earth, Shadow, Speed, even a prophesied Green savior. And a former pupil has returned. How fun!" Chen laughed again before his eyes traveled to (y/n). The two looked at each other, neither said anything, until Chen leaned over to Clouse.

"Uh, Clouse, who is that?" Chen's question was heard by everyone in the hall, and one of the Elemental Masters even snorted.

(y/n) just held up an amused smile as Clouse whispered an answer into Chen's ear. This time no one could hear, unlike Chen, Clouse actually knew how to be quiet.

"Well, whatever," Whatever Clouse had said, Chen didn't seem very interest about it, as he continued explaining about something else.

"This symbol before you is for the Anacondrai, fiercest Serpentine warrior to ever roam this land. Its creed: Only one can remain."

Chen showed everyone the match bracket, and who everyone would be going up against. He also explained the idea of Jadeblades, that were basically everyone's ticket to move onto the next match.

And lastly Clouse called over more Kabuki to show everyone to their rooms. Everyone, that again did not include (y/n). (y/n) knew that, and that was why when the others were guided away, he wandered off on his own.

Lloyd was left with a sense of suspicion once again, but he pushed it aside as he was led to his room.

"New clothes have been prepared for you, master Lloyd. They can be found in the cabinet next to the bed." The Kabuki said as she gave a simple bow and opened the door for Lloyd, before scurrying away.

And indeed, Lloyd first dug through the cabinet to find a brand new qi, that wasn't actually half bad.

Lloyd was actually kind of impressed by the decorations in the room too. There was green and gold everywhere, and small dragon patterns here and there.

The only thing that ruined the aesthetic was a large painting that sat as the only decoration on one of the rooms four walls.

It pictured, the Golden Ninja, Lloyd, when he had unlocked his golden powers during the fight against the Overlord.

The painting was very beautiful, the golden light that came from Lloyd felt like it was taken straight out of the fight. And Overlords face was disturbingly accurate.

Suddenly music started blaring from the inter com, and with it came Chen's cheerful voice.

"Fellow fighters, hidden around my island are enough Jadeblades for every participant except for one. The one who returns to the palace arena empty-handed loses. The tournament begins...now!" Lloyd waited a bit, then almost jumped, realizing a little late how big of a hurry he was in.

He darted out of his room to be met with the sight of a full blown battle, every person giving their all to the snatch themselves a Jadeblade.

Everyone but Cole. Cole looked a bit unwell. Sadly Lloyd didn't have time to stop and help him. Lloyd had his own struggles to face, like Clouse and his dark magic. Thankfully Garmadon was there to help hold him off.

Lloyd managed to get himself a Jadeblade soon enough, and he rushed to the main hall as fast as he could.

When he arrived, the first thing he saw was (y/n) talking with Jay. Along with them, only Chen and two other elemental masters were there. Lloyd recognized one to be the red head Kai was crushing on, but the other one he didn't know.

"Lloyd!" Jay waved to the Green Ninja right after Lloyd had given the Jadeblade to Chen. More people, including Garmadon and Clouse, who wore extremely pissed expressions on their faces, arrived.

"You'll never believe this, Lloyd! Just listen, listen, listen..." Jay was basically freaking out about something that made him smile from ear to ear, as he rushed up to Lloyd.

"You were right about (y/n), he's no ordinary guy." Lloyd was ready to celebrate on the inside, he knew there was something off about-

"He's friends with Fritz Donnegan!!" ...Huh?

"I mean, he's friends with the actor, Cliff Gordon. But isn't that amazing?! He's talked Cliff Gordon face to face!!!" All of Lloyd's little hope was crushed as (y/n) cast a glance to the two ninja.

Jay was too excited to even notice as (y/n) threw Lloyd a smile, a blatantly mocking one. And Lloyd could do nothing about it.
