"You have a what in your apartment?!" Jay let out as (y/n) fanned himself with a tiny yet bright smile on his face. Lloyd meanwhile rolled his eyes, but no one noticed.
"An indoor hot tub. The interior designer I hired talked me into buying it," (y/n) spoke as if it wasn't a big thing, not even mentioning how big of a fortune his apartment must have costed.
"Are you done? I think we've all heard enough of your apartment already." Lloyd stated with a tone of utter and complete annoyance.
"What are you so sour for? You guys are the ones who said you were bored." (y/n) gave Lloyd a smug look as Jay spoke up.
"I think it's cool! I mean, a whole shelf full of Starfarer movies? How cool is that!?" Jay grinned like a child, swinging his broken leg back and forth while making over exaggerated hand movements way too close to Lloyd's face. The green ninja had to swat Jay's hands away just to have a bit of personal space.
"Oh, it's really nothing." (y/n) told Jay, being modest and full of smiles as always.
"Well, I wouldn't mind checking out that hot tub," Kai spoke up, leaning against the wall right next to Jay's seat. Kai pondered for a moment before adding a "How many people can fit in there?"
(y/n), who was sitting on the floor, changed to sitting cross-legged as he thought about it. (y/n) had somehow ended up sitting down in the middle of the room even though there was space next to Lloyd, who sat on his bed. At this point Lloyd seriously considered the option that (y/n) was allergic to green.
"Two at max, so sorry, but no hot tub parties in my place." Kai nodded at (y/n)'s answer, respectfully dropping the topic, meanwhile Jay was just getting started.
"Oh, and you said the tv was big right? Oh, the Starfarer marathons, I can already imagine it!" Jay beamed as Lloyd gave him a look of doubt.
"You're not planning to visit him, are you?" Lloyd asked as (y/n) turned to the green ninja again.
"I don't see anything wrong with it." (y/n) tilted his head at Lloyd, who shook his head quickly.
"No, I mean, he can visit, but is now real the time to be planning things like that? We still don't even know if we're going to make it out of here," Lloyd spoke, motioning all around them, in case the others somehow didn't get what the meant.
"It's called planning ahead, Lloyd." Jay once again spoke as Lloyd let out a sigh.
"Planning ahead? Wow, I never would have guessed," Kai suddenly said as Jay whipped towards him with a look of betrayal. Soon Kai's lips twisted into a smile and he let out a long laugh as Jay huffed, not able to do anything but take the insult.
"Well, if you do get out of here, my place is open for a Starfarer marathon." Jay beamed once again as (y/n) spoke, until Lloyd spoke up.
"You mean when we get out of here?" Lloyd corrected, but surprisingly the correction didn't seem to matter.
"Well, I'm going to get out of here anyway, I just wonder if you guys will." (y/n) said almost nonchalantly, before giving Lloyd a sly smile, as always. The mysteries with the boy never seemed to end. Kai raised an eyebrow as he too gave (y/n) a look of doubt.
"What makes you so sure you'll make it out, (y/n)?" Kai questioned as (y/n) suddenly dropped his eyes onto the floor, yet the smile stayed in it's place even when a somewhat sad look washed over to (y/n)'s face.
"I just know it," (y/n) said quietly.
Lloyd frowned, still not entirely convinced. "You never really talk about yourself, do you? Or your past." Although Lloyd wore an angry look, his voice was more his usual tone.
(y/n) only stared at the ground, before giving Lloyd a strange look and exclaimed confidently, "...I'll get out."
(y/n) suddenly smirked again, his eyes glinting, hiding the truth behind a wall of smiles and smug looks once more. "Maybe one day I'll tell you, but that day is not today."
A heavy silence fell over the group as Lloyd studied (y/n) for a moment longer, the hundreth seed of curiosity planted deep in his mind.
"Alright then," Kai decided to cut the silence. "Also, isn't the next challenge supposed to start right about now?" Kai questioned as the others perked up.
"Now that you mentioned it, yeah. We've waited for a really long time here already!" Jay let out, 'here' meaning Lloyd's room. The ninja, (y/n) and the meditating Sensei Garmadon had already waited for a while, but Chen's booming voice had yet to inform the group about the next challenge.
(y/n), after a long while of sitting on the floor, stood up and walked over to the balcony door. Sensei Garmadon was meditating on the balcony, so when (y/n) entered, the boy gave him a respectful little nod.
(y/n) used his folding fan to shield his eyes from sunlight as he tried to spot something from the yard of the temple.
"I see a few people outside. Just spending time wandering around it looks like." (y/n) observed before his neutral face turned to one of surprise.
"Scratch that, I think I see the challenge." Immediately Kai and Lloyd perked up and ran over to the balcony, and soon all of their faces turned to match (y/n)'s. Only Jay kept sitting down, not wanting to pressure his broken leg.
From the balcony they could see a large blimp slowly land in the temple's courtyard. Only seconds after the landing, Chen's voice rang out from the intercom.
"Good evening challengers! The next challenge takes place further away from the temple, so everyone will get a ride from my very own blimp! Gather at the courtyard, everyone!" Chen simply explained as Garmadon stopped meditating and stood up.
"You heard him, let's go." Garmadon stated as he headed towards the front door of the room. The three ninja followed like ducklings after him, only stopping once to help Jay get up.
"You aren't coming?" Kai meanwhile questioned (y/n), who was still in the balcony, not even looking at the ninja, instead observing those who were already outside.
"No, I'm not a competitor anyway." (y/n) nonchalantly said, before turning towards the ninja and waving to them before turning back and leaning against the railing.
"And once we do that, we're one step closer to getting out of here and one step closer to that hot tub!" Lloyd rolled his eyes before helping Jay to stand up and walking over to the blimp.
"Get your priorities straight, Jay."
Even as all the Elemental Masters were being loaded into the blimp, (y/n) was still watching from the balcony.
Jay was the first to notice him, and the blue ninja of course waved to the older boy. (y/n) of course waved back with a small smile.
Kai was too concentrated on Skylor to bother glancing at (y/n), so he didn't.
Lloyd tried to ignore the boy on the balcony, but sometime after Jay had already turned away, even the green ninja's curiosity peaked, and he turned to look over at the balcony.
First, he saw (y/n)'s usual, smug smirk. Second, he saw (y/n) fan his face with his right hand. Third, when Lloyd gave a reluctant wave to (y/n), the wave wasn't returned, instead (y/n)'s left hand motioned for him to 'shoo, shoo, away you go', as (y/n) mouthed the words.
