Lloyd had been wondering for a while about (y/n)'s whereabouts. While he and every other Elemental Master had been captured then freed again, (y/n) hadn't associated with the battle what so ever.
Every Elemental Master had a part to play. Some watched over the captured Anacondrai cultists, some were destroying any way to escape the island, and the rest tried their best locate the missing Skylor, Chen, and Clouse.
Jay had said he saw (y/n) in the temple yard, and of course he just assumed the (h/c) haired boy to have been helping with the search.
But when Lloyd had asked around with others, Cole had said otherwise: "He said he was going to keep guard over the cultists with Zane."
And even Zane had different story, "Is (y/n) the gentleman with the folding fan? Yes, we passed by each other, and he seemed quite nice. I saw him head into the temple not long ago."
Lloyd had his doubts, as usual. He knew his friends wouldn't lie to him, so he figured it was all just a mix of miscommunications or something similar.
Although he was getting annoyed, having wandered around in search for (y/n) for far too long, he couldn't really drop the search either. Everyone had to be on guard, working hard or at least trying. From what Lloyd had seen of (y/n), he was probably lazing around in one of their rooms.
But even searching every single one of the rooms, including their balconies, Lloyd had found nothing.
This time Lloyd was a bit surprised, but didn't let that bother him as he resumed his search through the temple.
First the first floor, all empty. Then the second, again, all empty. Thankfully the search of the third floor finally brought some results.
Though most of the hallways and rooms were silent, there came a strange rustle from Chen's small library of all places.
Lloyd silenced his footsteps, and quietly sneaked into the room. From outside it looked normal. The shelves were neat, all though it looked a bit like some of the books were put in the wrong places. The wooden stand for Clouse's spell book still stood at the center of the room in it's full glory. Well, minus the actual spell book.
But although the scene looked ordinary from outside, the inside was a lot different. In the very back corner where Lloyd couldn't even see until he had circled around one of the shelves covering the spot.
And the first thing he saw was (y/n) digging through the shelves and flipping through the books with his face turned into a sharp glare. One by one, he picked up a book from the shelf, read the first page, then either scrolled through the whole thing or stuffed the book back onto the shelf, not caring if it went back into the right spot.
(y/n) gritted his teeth while mumbling, "Magic tea, this, magic tea that... worthless. Spells, spells... Ugh, all to hell!" In a sudden burst of anger, (y/n) threw the book aside, thankfully not towards Lloyd's direction.
Lloyd almost blew his own cover in surprise at the situation. (y/n)'s way of showing anger usually was... not showing it at all. The most Lloyd had gotten out of him were snarky remarks and passive aggressiveness, not pure anger like what (y/n) was showing right now.
For a moment Lloyd even considered just leaving, or pretending to have just come in and loudly announcing his arrival. But then again, what would the green ninja gain from that? But if he just kept listening, he might just 'overhear' something interesting. But no.
Just more flipping through books until (y/n) finally seemed to give up on whatever he was searching for.
"...Light spells, magical objects... Clouse's notes... Argh, THAT BASTARD!!!" (y/n)'s angered yell basically rang through the library, startling Lloyd, who unluckily bumped his elbow onto the bookshelf he was hiding behind, one of the books falling down on the floor rather audibly.
