Tyler's POV

The date was now May 6th. Things between Zara and me have been going smoothly, but it's only been a week and the past week has been great. Since that day at my place, I've been multitasking by coordinating with my team to finalize the lineup for Camp Flog Gnaw and simultaneously beginning to plan for Zara's birthday.

Tyler: I'm think I wanna plan a trip for Ra's birthday.

Travis: Where to?

Tyler: She's been talking about wanting to go somewhere tropical. So that's the idea I have at the moment.

Travis: Wait...why are you trying to plan something a month before her birthday?

Tyler: It's not gonna take me an entire month to plan this out. Within an hour, I can have a jet fueled up and prepared for departure. It doesn't matter how long she wants to go for; it won't have any effect on us.

Travis: That wasn't the answer I was looking for. Making a big deal out of someone's birthday is not your style. Additionally, you guys have only recently become a couple.

Tyler: Zara is my lady now, so I have a reason to make it a big deal and what difference does that make? We've been tight for years, so...

Travis: That doesn't seem like you're moving too fast to you?

Tyler: (shrugs) Not really. If she's not ready to go on a trip with just me right now, I can still make arrangements for her friends and sisters to accompany her. It's not a big deal.

Travis: (chuckles) Just saying. It seems like you always throw yourself into relationships without hesitation, and I suggest you take a more cautious approach. Especially since this is someone that's very close to us.

Tyler: (lifts a brow) You think I'm gonna hurt her or she's gonna hurt me?

Travis: Nah. Personally, I have a feeling that you both will be great together. Just...take it easy, bro. I know you love hard. PAUSE.

The obnoxious cackling from both of us drew the attention of nearby diners. Travis and I had a spontaneous meetup and decided to get lunch together.

Tyler: (looks around) What?? The hell y'all looking at?

Without delay, everyone turned their attention back to their previous activities.

Travis: (shakes his head) Nigga, you're a menace.

Tyler: (shrugs) Niggas need to mind their business. Now, back to what I was saying. Help me!

Travis: This might be a bit corny, but ask her if she could go anywhere tropical right now. Where would she go? You'll get a direct answer from the source.

Tyler: (groans) Noo.. You know how Zara can be. She'll start asking a million fucking questions and it'll ruin everything.

Travis: Make it a game or something. Consider organizing a game night where you can fish for answers. If you do that, she won't have any suspicions.

Tyler: You know what, Trav, you just might be onto something.

Travis: Yeah, sure. Are we actually gonna get any food here or what?

Tyler: Oh shit. You're right.

I scanned the area until I caught the attention of a server and motioned them to come over. We've been sitting here for an hour, so engrossed in conversation that we forgot why we came. To eat.
