Zara's POV
Today was photoshoot day! I am releasing my next pair of glasses for the brand in a few months called "Grace". I named them "Grace" after my late mother, whose middle name is "Grace". It was a super fun campaign shoot. My sisters and girlfriends were all a part of it. We did two looks. Brown with just my sisters and I then creme with all of us.
Now the shoot had wrapped, and we were all heading out to celebrate over brunch. Dashanelle thought it would be a good idea for us to get around in a party bus for the day instead of driving, so she arranged that.
Alexis: Where are we even going again?
Dashanelle: This place I found last week called "Met Her At A Bar". They have some fire ass food I'm telling y'all.
Samaria: It better be good because I'm starving.
Zara: No one told you not to eat this morning.
Samaria: I didn't eat because I assumed that the shoot would provide food.
Zara: Girl, no. I don't have it like that yet. We'll get there one day, though.
Ayo: I can vouch for Nelle. I've been there before and the food is good. They have a waffle with lox.
Trini: You had me at Lox. I'm in.
Ryah: So they have vegan options, right?
Ayo: They do.
Zara: I still don't understand how, out of the three of us, you became the vegan.
Ryah: (shrugs) I was just tired of feeling bad eating junk.
Trini: You're not necessarily a clean vegan though. You still be out here snacking.
Zara: Right. You just sat and ate two sacks of sweet potato fries last night.
Trini: With cinnamon sprinkled on top.
Ryah: (shrugs) What? At least it's still healthy.
We finally pulled up to the restaurant, and we all filed out of the bus once it came to a complete stop. The driver even got off so that he could get something to eat as well.
Upon our arrival, the staff quickly found us a seat, and I was honestly surprised because it was packed in here.
Zara: Nelle, how did we get seated so fast?
Dashanelle: I called ahead and let them know we were coming.
Alexis: You got it like that?
Dashanelle: Yeah. I know the owner. We were neighbors for years. Went to elementary and middle school together. Then my family moved, and I ended up going to high school with you, Ra.
Ayo: Cool. We get a discount, right?
Dashanelle: Hey. Now I didn't say all of that. I come here to support her business fully.
Ayo: Damn. Alright.
Samaria: Ayo, I have a question, but you promise you won't get upset.
Ayo: (raises a brow) I kinda don't even wanna hear it now. Why can't I get mad and why is it something that you think will make me mad?
Samaria: Just... Listen. Do you like Lionel?
All of us at the table looked at Ayo to see what she would say. After that night in the car where T asked me about it, I was curious to hear her answer. Just a tad bit nervous to hear it because I know Lionel likes her.
