Genshin Impact: The Origins

Beginning of the End

(This story will tell from Raiden Shahasra's point of view)

I slowly start to wake up. I can hear some voices. I slowly opened my eyes, but my eyes couldn't focus on anything. My vision was blurry.

"Who is he, Isshin? Where did you find him?"

"I don't know, Shinano... the only thing I know is he does not belong to this world."

"He is hurt pretty badly. How old might he be? He looks like he's 11 years old. Maybe older than that."

My vision slowly starts to focus. The first thing I saw was a beautiful woman who was examining my head.

"Who are you? Where am I?" My voice cracked."Easy, honey... You are hurt pretty badly," that lady replied to me.

I tried to move my body, but I couldn't even feel it.

"Please tell me."

"My name is Shinano. My husband found you in the wild last night. You are in our house. You are hurt pretty badly. Please rest. You are safe now. Once you recover, we will talk."

After saying this, she started to sing a lullaby or something. It started to ease my mind, and my pain started to go away. I fall asleep again.

I don't know how much time or days I was asleep, but I finally woke up again. This time I could hear and see everything clearly. I was sleeping on a comfortable mattress. I sat down and looked around the place where I was. My head still hurt.

Around the corner, a door opened. A lady came into the room carrying some trays with her."Finally... you are awake, but I don't recommend sudden moves like those."She is beautiful, but the weird thing is she had nine white fluffy tails from her behind and ears on her head.

"Ummm... I think I hit my head somewhere pretty badly or am I hallucinating? I don't mean to be rude, but Ma'am... I can see tails from your behind."

That lady laughed. "Well... there was a deep cut on your head. It's healed now, but you're not hallucinating. I really have tails. I'm a Kitsune after all."

"A Kit.... What?"

She came near me and knelt down beside me. She put those trays beside her. Whatever thing in that tray smelled really nice. My stomach growled.

That lady smiled again. I was embarrassed.

"You should eat. Let me feed you." She started to feed me. That food was delicious.

After I'm done eating, she cleared up the trays.

"So, how are you feeling now?"

"I feel better now. Thanks for that food."

"I'm glad to hear that you like it."

"So... who are you and where am I?"

"My name is Shinano. You are currently in my house. Only me and my husband live here. What about you? What is your name?"

I feel so strange. I got scared. "Who am I?.... I... I.... I don't know." I tried to remember my own name, but I couldn't remember. "I don't know.... Who... Who am I? I don't remember anything."My voice started to crack. I got so scared.

"Calm down, honey... as I told you, there was a deep cut on your head. I think that is the reason you don't remember anything," Shinano said.

"HOW CAN I BE CALM? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO I AM, I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER MY OWN NAME!"

Shinano started to sing a lullaby. Somehow it made me relaxed.

"Now... If you don't remember your name, I will give you a name until you remember your name."

I didn't have so many choices, so I agreed. At least I need an identity about me.

"Please... If you can," I replied.

Shinano started to think. "How about.... 'Shahasra'?"

"Shahasra? It's a nice name. Thank you."

"You are welcome. Actually, it was the name I gave to my son," Shinano's face got darkened.

"What happened to him?" I asked.

"He or she never was able to see this world. My child died during my pregnancy."

"Then I can't take that name... please..." I told her.

"No... You should take it. My child died, but my son still lives," Shinano caressed my face with teary eyes.

"Be the fire that keeps people warm, not burn them. Be the water that heals people's wounds, not drowns them. Be the wind that relaxes minds, not destroys everything in its path. Be a tree that fills hungry stomachs, not poisons them. Be the ice that keeps everything safe until the right time comes. Be a mountain that protects and shields everything, not landslides and destroys everything. And lastly... be the lightning that strikes down enemies, protect the ones you love."

"I will..... Mother."
