"Okay, here's my plan," I explained. "I'll make a trap that no one can escape from, and I'm going to use roasted meat as the bait. The key is to ensure that the roasting smell spreads throughout the area. But the problem is, this monster is cunning. If we just put a giant piece of roasted meat in the middle of the wild, even some low-level idiotic monster like a hilichurl will know it's a trap. That's why I've decided to throw a BBQ party."

"We'll lure the monster with the scent of the BBQ, and once it takes the bait, we'll trigger the trap and catch it," I continued.

"It's a risky plan, but it might just work," Takashi commented."We'll need to set up the BBQ party strategically, ensuring that the scent carries far and wide," Yashiro added.

"We'll also need to be prepared for anything. This monster may be cunning, but we won't let it outsmart us," I affirmed.

The plan is simple. We casually roasting some meat in the wild. Like we came here to get some fun and enjoy environment. not to catch a monster. The monster will lured to smell of meat. and my trap will caught it.

"Why can't we just put some poison on the meat and then... you know," Tenryou suggested.

"It would be useless. Several village hunters have tried that before and failed. That monster has a keen sense of smell," Yashiro replied.

"Yeah, that's why I decided to make a trap. It has to be durable because now we have a basic idea of the power of that monster," I said.

"Several days later, we completed our trap. Now it's time to set the plan in motion. We ventured into the middle of the woods in the evening and set up camp. As night fell, we began roasting the meats and started our small picnic. With nothing else to do, we engaged in casual conversation to pass the time.

"So, Young master, how are things with the Princess?" Yashiro asked suddenly.

"What... What... Everything's fine. Why do you ask?" I replied, feeling caught off guard.

"He's lying," Takashi interjected. "He's not allowed to see them until his 13th birthday. Young master's a little desperate because of that."

"Hey, don't sell me out," I yelled. "Anyway, what about you guys? I'm pretty sure you guys have arranged marriages too, or a crush."

"We don't have," Yashiro replied. "As the next heir of one of the major clans, of course, I receive proposals all the time. But my parents said I can choose whoever I want when the time comes."

"I'm a Youkai, so... no," Tenryou replied.

"You guys know, about my reputation and clan, so, nobody," Takashi added.

As we conversed, suddenly, we heard the trap work.

**********

We rushed to where we set the trap, which wasn't far away. To our surprise, we found a boy caught in the trap.

He was a young boy, struggling against the restraints of the trap. His clothes were ragged, and he had fierce red eyes. What caught our attention the most were the animal ears atop his head and the tail swaying behind him, reminiscent of a kitsune.

"What... The..." I muttered, astonished by the sight.

The boy began to growl, his expression fierce and wild. He didn't speak, but I sensed danger emanating from him.

"Everybody move!" I yelled, urging everyone to leap away from our previous position. Just as we moved, massive rock spikes erupted from the ground where we had stood moments ago.

"Is he the monster we're looking for?" Yashiro asked, his voice filled with uncertainty. "He's just a kid."

"Yeah, a kid trying to pierce holes in our bodies!" Takashi shouted, unsheathing his tachi in readiness for battle.

"And we're kids too!" Tenryou exclaimed, preparing his bow.

"Everybody, calm down. Put your weapons down," I commanded. "He's just scared of us. Let's try to calm him down first."

Everyone began to relax, except for the frightened boy. I approached him slowly and calmly."Hey, I know you're scared, hungry, and hurt. Please, let us help you. Can you understand me?" I asked gently.

He stopped growling and seemed to become a bit calmer.

"Promise me you won't hurt me," he said timidly.

"I promise," I assured him. "And promise me you won't run after we release you." He nodded in agreement and stayed calm. I disabled the trap and released him. He didn't attempt to run, or perhaps he was simply too exhausted to do so.

"Can you stand up?" I asked. He struggled a bit, but with my help, he managed to stand. He looked younger than me and shorter as well. We brought him back to our campsite, where he seemed to calm down after some relaxation and food. Then, we began to ask him questions.

"First of all, what is your name?" I inquired.

"I don't know," he replied. Okay, so he either had memory loss or didn't have a name. Anyway, on to the next question.

"How did you control the earth? You know, those spikes?" I asked.

He remained silent for a moment, then reached out for his neck. He was wearing a rope around his neck, and I didn't know why. He removed the rope necklace. When I saw the thing attached to the rope, my eyes almost popped out. It was a vision, a Geo Vision attached to the rope.

"Young master, this is..." Tenryou began to say.

"Yes, I know. This is a problem," I interrupted.

**********

Now, this was a god-tier problem. A Yokai kid wandering in the woods and stealing food, and he had a vision. Just a typical day in Inazuma. I started to think because questioning him wasn't getting us anywhere. All he said was that the vision appeared before him, so he was chosen for it. The other thing was,

"Why do you steal food?" Takashi asked.

"That's because of my sister. She's hurt and can't walk to find food on her own," he replied."Wait, you have a sister, and she's hurt? Where is she now? We have to take care of her. Show us the way now!" I yelled at him.

He startled a bit, but he started to show us the way. All the way, I lectured him about his wrongdoing.

"You should have asked for help from someone," I scolded him. He didn't say anything. Soon after, we came to a cave. It was well hidden. We headed inside.

"Sister, I'm back," he called out. Inside, on some hay, there was a little creature. It was a vixen. So, these two are kitsunes after all. The vixen's eyes lit up as soon as she saw her brother, but she saw us and got scared.

"It's alright, they're here to help us. Can you smell his scent?" He pointed to me.

"Me, smell?" Oh boy, I needed to take a shower.

"Yes, you smell so familiar, like our mother. That's why I trusted you," he replied.

I got it now. My mother was a Kitsune too, and I had a blessing from my crackhead Kitsune grandfather. No wonder I smelled familiar to them.

"Anyway, do you want to come with me? I can give you a place to stay, food, and protection. Also, I can treat your sister too. My mother is a Kitsune. That's why I smell familiar to you," I offered.

He started to think and then nodded in agreement.

"Okay, it's settled then. Takashi, Tenryou, go to the village and bring horses back. On the way, tell the village chief we've slain the monster so they don't need to worry about it anymore. But don't mention this to him," I instructed.

They bowed to me and ran outside. I turned to the kitsune siblings.

"Let's go home, shall we?"
