Lion and Dragon

Is it just me, or do all mothers act like this? When you're in your room, minding your own business, you think your family members should respect that personal space because it's yours. For example, if I'm in my room, my father or my little siblings will knock on the door and ask, "May I come in?" But for Mom...

Well, I think we all know the answer. They just barge in, even if you're in the middle of getting changed. They don't care. So, when my mom suddenly barged into my room, I did what I always do: I screamed like a hamster that just got scared to death.

"Shahasra, this is urgent," my mom barged into my room.

"Aggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... MOM, WE TALKED ABOUT THIS. DON'T ENTER MY ROOM WITHOUT KNOCKING!" I yelled.

"Why? I'm your mother. You're my son. I can enter your room anytime, boy. Don't order me around, or I'll whack your head with my folding fan," she yelled back.

I sighed in frustration. "What is this urgent matter? You seem a bit mad," I asked, noticing her mood was a bit off. I didn't want to make her angrier, so I decided to play it safe.

"Remember, we decided not to hold your birthday ceremony," Mom asked.

"Yeah, it was my decision after all. Because Ei and Makoto can't come," I replied.

"Well, I think we have to hold your birthday ceremony even without them. You know you are already appointed as the next Shogun. The master clans want to celebrate your first birthday in this role. They sent a letter to your father saying they will celebrate it on our behalf."

"I see, but... not my problem. They can do as they please," I replied, shrugging it off. I literally didn't care about it. It wasn't an urgent matter to me. Before I knew it, my mom hit me.

"Ouch... what's that for?" I yelled.

"Listen well, you idiot. The problem is that next week, a group of ambassadors will come to Inazuma to celebrate your birthday and deepen our political bonds with their country. They're going to meet you because you are going to be the next Shogun," my mom explained while squeezing my head.

"Ouch... ouch... ouch..." Despite the pain, my interest was piqued. "A group of ambassadors? From which country?" I asked.

She let go of my head. "From Khaenri'ah. There is also the crown prince of Khaenri'ah in the group of ambassadors. He is the same age as you. Now, do you understand the matter?"

She is right. I understand the matter now. I've heard about Khaenri'ah before. It's a technologically advanced civilization in Teyvat, located near Sumeru, which is my grandfather Verdantus: Dragon of Nature's sovereign land. Sumeru is no longer under his control, so I guess it's a former sovereign land. Anyway, their crown prince is coming to meet me. This is a political affair, aimed at maintaining strong relations even after I become the Shogun and their prince becomes their king. If we become friends, the alliance will be stronger; if we become enemies, relations between our countries will deteriorate.

This means I am deciding a crucial future matter. Khaenri'ah is a land that produces many valuable things. They have the best technicians in Teyvat, not to mention their military power. If a country like that becomes our ally, it will be beneficial for us.

"That's a huge problem," I replied.

"So, don't mess this up, okay? For once, use your brain and don't do anything stupid. They're going to stay here for a whole month. I'm going to prepare for this because they're staying in our castle," Mother explained. Then she left my room without closing the door. Ugh, I hate that.

Wait a minute. Did she just say they're going to stay in our castle for a whole month? A WHOLE DAMN MONTH? Oh, for the sake of Narukami... Goodbye, my peaceful life. See you next month.

I closed the door and lay down on my bed. In Inazuma, royal birthdays involve giving return gifts to those who present gifts to us. I started thinking and remembered a wakizashi, a sword, that I designed. I'm going to mass-produce them and give them as my token of gratitude. I guess I have to go to Mikage Furnace tomorrow.

***********

Actually, I'm looking forward to this because I love Khaenri'ah technology. Some merchants bring goods from their land, and I've always wanted to visit Khaenri'ah. Today is the day they arrive, and it's also my birthday. Happy birthday to me. I woke up early in the morning and did my morning routine. Oh, I forgot to mention that yesterday Takashi, Sorakaze, Yashiro, and Tenryou spent the night in our castle. They will spend the whole month with me. This is going to be a fun month.

After changing into my attire, a white kimono with purple dragon embroidery, I started to receive birthday wishes from everyone. As Takashi informed me, they were placing their gifts in our big ceremony hall. Our castle is quite busy today, with samurai and their families coming since morning.

I traveled around with my friends, greeting our guests. I met the Hakushin Clan leader, who is Saiguu's father and also my mother's little brother. (Wait, I didn't tell you that? Sorry, my bad, I thought I mentioned it. So, Saiguu and I are relatives.) Uncle Hakushin is just like Grandpa Akihiko: braindead, stupid, and incredibly powerful.

After a few moments, my father approached me.

"Shahasra, come with me. Our special guests will arrive soon. We should go and greet them."

I gulped. I was a little nervous, but I followed my father. Alongside us, other clan heads followed.

***********

After some few moments, their carriage arrived. they start to getting off they carriage. first one who gets off was tall white haired young man, I think he is between 20 and 25 years old. then the one who gets off was blonde haired  boy, I think he is 16-18 years old. after that few middle age peoples.to my surprise they all wears kimonos, And Finally, a blonde haired boy around my age gets off the carriage. he had blonde hair, but hair was cut to short and shaved from sides. His kimono was black with gold lion embroiders. The most impressing thing was the things that flying around his head. there was two small triangle creatures were flying around his while making some beep noises happily.

As he stepped off, he walked directly towards us and bowed politely.

"I believe this is Lord Raiden Isshin and his son Raiden Shahasra. My name is Indra Meghanada, Crown Prince of Khaenri'ah and son of King Irmin," he introduced himself.

My father and I, along with the others, bowed in return.

"Yes, I am Raiden Isshin. This is my wife and my son. We warmly welcome you, Crown Prince of Khaenri'ah," my father replied.

Indra then turned to me. "I wish you a happy birthday and a healthy life, Lord Raiden Shahasra."

"Thank you. Please come inside. I'm sure your group is tired from the journey. Let's head in and talk," I invited them to our castle.

He accepted, and they followed us to the main hall. Indra walked beside me.

"I'm looking forward to the time we will spend together, Lord Raiden," he said.

"Me too. Also, call me Shahasra; there's no need to be formal. We are in the same position," I replied.

"Is that so? Then you can call me Indra. Nice to meet you, Shahasra," he replied with a smile.
