Journey to Enlightenment

That's how I became the Adoptive son of Raiden Isshin and Shinano.

My adoptive father and mother were so intelligent. They taught me everything I needed to know, and I was a fast learner too. I started to learn about this world slowly.

This world is known as Teyvat. It has many nations, but some stand stronger than others. The country I'm living in now is Inazuma, meaning sudden flash or lightning. It is a country made up of six islands. The names of those islands are Kannazuka, Seirai Island, Tsurumi Island, Watatsumi Island, Yashiori Island, and Narukami Island.

We currently live on Narukami Island, the main island of Inazuma. It's a beautiful island. Those six islands were united under one flag by my father and his brother, but wars still ravage like fire under the ashes. The best example was the assassination attack on my mother. She was poisoned, but thanks to her Yokai powers (which I'm still trying to understand), she survived. However, she was pregnant at that time, so her child didn't make it.

She is a Kitsune, a magical vixen who took human form. She has nine tails. Each additional tail grows every 100 years, so despite her appearance, she's actually 900 years old. My father, Raiden Isshin, is the son of a dragon. If you look closely at his head, you can see small antlers. He said they won't fully grow because he is half human and half dragon. He was the former ruler of Narukami Island, but after the assassination incident, he got depressed and gave up his throne to his brother, Raiden Musou. I never saw my uncle before, but my father told me he is his twin brother and he really looks like him.

As for me, I don't even know who I am. I lost all of my memory. My father told me he found me in the wild, and he said he saw me fall from the sky. He said it was literally like a normal thing, like "Hey, you fell from the sky just like every kid in Inazuma." But I think it's normal because I have a half-dragon, half-human man and a 900-year-old vixen in human form as my adoptive parents. Of course, a falling child with memory loss is literally NORMAL. I don't know my age, so based on my looks, they said I look like I'm 11 years old boy. There's nothing special about my appearance. I have black eyes and black hair, fair skin, and a scar on my head because of the fall.

They started to teach me everything they know. My father is insanely skilled at martial and self-defense arts. He is the creator of the sword-based art called "Isshin art." It is one of two main sword arts in Inazuma. The other art is created by my uncle and is called "Musou art." He started to explain the differences in sword arts.My father told me I should learn "Musou art" directly from my uncle, but I should learn "Isshin art" first.

There are various martial and sword arts in Inazuma, but "Isshin art" is the foundation of all sword arts in Inazuma, even for "Musou art."

"Isshin Art strives for complete harmony between blade and mind from the moment that forging begins. For only a blade thus forged can capture and convey its maker's thoughts and feelings and eventually become an extension of its wielder's will." That's what my father told me.

"Isshin Art" has seven forms. Those are,

Isshin style first form: Raijin no Ikari - (Wrath of Raijin)

Isshin style second form: Raimei Kenbu - (Thundering Sword Dance)

Isshin style third form: Raigō no Zangeki - (Thunderous Slash)

Isshin style fourth form: Shippū Raiken - (Gale Thunder Sword)

Isshin style fifth form: Inazuma Jinran - (Chaos of Lightning Blades)

Isshin style sixth form: Sōraiken - (Azure Thunder Blade)

Isshin style seventh form: Rairyū no Mai - (Dance of the Thunder Dragon)

"Isshin Art" is not about fighting; it's about the 'will of mind,' unlike "Musou art," which focuses on demonstration and destruction. Every samurai who learns "Isshin art" must forge their own sword.

"Swords have feelings too, Shahasra. A blade of a sword always reflects its wielder's heart. Remember, one day you will forge your own sword. Forge it with your heart, not with your hands. If you can do it, that blade will never betray you."

"What did you mean by betray?"

"The swords which are forged by my technique will never break because they will be forged by its owner's idealism. An Isshin sword can understand its wielder's feelings. If you ever try to betray your idealism, the Isshin sword will go against you. It can break suddenly or become extremely heavy. You can't use it anymore."

I entered into deep thought.

"What are you thinking?" Father asked.

"I was thinking.... What if I forge two swords with different hearts? Is it possible?" I looked at my father. His eyes widened. He kneeled in front of me and grabbed my shoulders.

"Shahasra, mark my words. Forget that idea. NEVER USE ISSHIN ART TO CREATE DUAL WIELDING."

"But why?""Wielding two swords with two minds at the same time can destroy your mind, so don't even think about it." His voice was concerned. I think I should agree with him. After all, he is the one who created this art.

"But...." He smirked. "If you want to do it, you can try. Just don't tell Mom."

I smirked back. "Heh.. I will."

"WHAT IS THAT 'DON'T TELL MOM' PART?" a familiar voice came from nearby. Me and Father frowned. My mother came to us with a broom in her hands. Me and my father both gulped together. Her face didn't look good. It looked like she overheard our conversation. She has fox ears after all, and she can even read minds. So basically, we are going to die now.
